e621:tagging projects
[Back: e621:index]
This wiki serves as a hub for tagging projects to be found, and managed. Anyone can add tag projects to this wiki.

Tagging projects
General projects
Misrated breasts
Link: breasts order:random
Summary: Correct the mistagged breast sizes.
Instructions: Not all posts with the breasts tag have been accurately sized, or lack a specific sizing altogether. See the wiki description for breasts for how to accurately judge which tags to use for breast sizes.
Missing character counts
Link: -solo -duo -group -zero_pictured
Summary: Add missing character counts.
Instructions: All posts should have at least one of these: solo, duo, group, or zero_pictured. Add the missing tags, and also solo_focus or duo_focus where applicable.
Missing gender
Link: -ambiguous_gender -male -female -intersex -zero_pictured
Summary: Add missing gender tags.
Instructions: All posts (with the exception of zero_pictured) should have some kind of gender tag, even if it's ambiguous_gender in the case that a character's gender cannot be identified. See also: tag_group:genders and howto:tag_genders.
Missing species
Link: spectags:0 -zero_pictured
Summary: Add missing species tags.
Instructions: All posts (with the exception of zero_pictured) should have some species tags, even if it's just unknown_species. See also: ambiguous_species and tag_group:body_types.
Sort out disambiguations
Link: *_(disambiguation)
Summary: Sort out posts from ambiguous tags.
Instructions: Replace the disambiguations with the proper tag(s). These are usually listed in the wiki, so check the entry *_(disambiguation) if you're unsure about how to sort them.
Tagme
Translation request
Link: translation_request, translation_check, and partially_translated
Summary: Add translation.
Instructions: Many posts are in need of translating or a translation_check by people familiar with these languages. Only attempt translating if you know what you are doing. Adding a bad or incorrect translation is worse than having no translation.
Unknown artist
Link: unknown_artist order:random and arttags:0 order:random
Summary: Tag the artists for posts that lack them.
Instructions: Numerous posts are missing the proper artist tags. Many of these might be impossible to track down, but reverse image searches tend to be a good place to start. Note that in some rare cases, careless tag category changes may have caused the artist tag to get mixed up with the character or even copyright tags.
Unknown artist signature
Link: unknown_artist_signature order:random and signature arttags:0 order:random
Summary: Tag the artists for posts that lack them, but have their signature.
Instructions: Many posts are missing an artist tag, but still have a signature that can be used to identify the unknown_artist behind the post. Those with a keen eye and knowledge of the signatures various artists use in their works can help to identify the artists.
Unknown character
Link: unknown_character order:random
Summary: Tag the characters without a character tag.
Instructions: Not everyone may know the name of a particular character, and not every character has a name assigned to them. Those that can be identified should be given a character tag. Some cases may leave the name of a character ambiguous (such as royal_guard_(mlp) and pokémon_trainer), but most should be given a character tag derived from their identifiable name (such as fox_mccloud, sonic_the_hedgehog, or judy_hopps).
Unknown species
Link: unknown_species spectags:1 order:random
Summary: Tidy the unknown_species tag.
Instructions: Not all species can be identified, but the ones that can should be tagged. Even simply adding basic tags such as mammal, humanoid, or scalie helps. See also: ambiguous_species.
Characters
Names
- *(*) - Character names are often incorrectly set to the General tag category upon creation and should be switched to the Character tag category. This search reveals many such tags, in addition to miscategorized artist tags, various other incorrectly formatted tags, and also many valid General tags with clarification in parentheses. The miscategorized character tags are usually trivial to spot. Click the Edit link to their right on the tag list, change their category from General to Character, and press Submit.
Form
- humanoid anthro solo - Anthro and humanoid should never apply to the same character. Include animal_humanoid when applicable. See the animal_humanoid wiki for a distinction between anthro, and animal humanoid.
- taur solo ~humanoid ~anthro ~feral - Taur is its own distinct form. It should not be tagged as a second form.
Gender
Sometimes the gender, the anatomy, or both will be incorrect. Beware of the accuracy of such tags.
- -male -female -ambiguous_gender -intersex -zero_pictured - Every image should have a gender tag.
- -male -gynomorph -herm -maleherm -penis_creature ~penis ~bulge - Make sure that a proper gender tag is associated with a penis (male, gynomorph, herm, maleherm).
- -female -gynomorph -andromorph -herm -maleherm pussy - Make sure that a proper gender tag is associated with a pussy (female, gynomorph, andromorph, herm, maleherm).
- -female -gynomorph -herm breasts - Make sure that a proper gender tag is associated with visible breasts (female, gynomorph, herm).
Anatomy
Checking male breasts
A male character should not have a breasts. There are a variety of reasons why these tags are grouped together.
- The user is mistaking moobs for breasts. If there is male lactation, the character would have lactating moobs, or otherwise not be a male per our gender tagging guidelines. Big/huge versions of pecs/moobs will look like breasts.
- The breasts belong to some other character. Check that solo is correctly applied, or some other multi-image theme. A disembodied penis counts as a character.
- The character does have breasts, which would most likely make it a gynomorph instead.
- Gender transformations are a grey area. If it looks like mtf_transformation (or an intersex equivalent), make sure it has that tag.
- moobs breasts - This should not refer to the same anatomy.
- moobs pecs - This most likely shouldn't refer to the same anatomy. (fat versus muscle) Male nipples are just tagged nipples.
- bulge ~abdominal_bulge ~neck_bulge ~cheek_bulge ~pectoral_bulge - Bulge specifically refers to the kind associated with underwear, pants, etc. Other types are inapplicable.
- bulge -clothed - The most typical examples are clothed, but covered examples are not (towel, blanket, etc). Add clothed where it is missing, or replace bulge with an anatomy tag instead.

Tag Formatting
Missing underscore
- *[az19](*) (example) - an underscore should precede trailing parentheses. *a(*), *b(*), *c(*), etc. Repeat this search with every valid character directly before the (, one at a time, and correct tags to have _ directly before the (. Note: malo(li) is an exception.
