Is this true? Want to make sure before going through 3000 posts or so and removing human where appropriate

Yep. Just make sure to replace humanized with humanoidized, the misusage of the former is the usual cause of those mistags.

20. What's a monstrous_humanoid?

As it says on the label. Humanoid that looks monstrous. Created because we're cleaning out the monster tag because of constant mistags. This was just discussed on the forum couple of days ago, dunno how you two missed it.

Where? Here ? This is hardly a "couple days ago" and there's hardly any constructive discussion so I have no idea what's going on. (not that I use the tag a lot outside some mtg stuff, but still...)

I did use it, and I'm not going to apologize for skipping right over what looks 100% like an Undertale thread from its title.

*starts sklapping copyright: left and right like crazy*

holy fuck that is a metric crap ton of things to change for a single post! i decided to simply cut the entire tag list after clicking edit then pasting it into notepad to change it more easily. fuck that's a lot of tags...

around halfway through currently (removed a few unnecessary ones like blue_body and braided_hair (that has absolutely nothing to do with that playlist flash thing.). expect to see a number of alias suggestions when i finish this.

o_O hair?! that is NOT a pic, people!

edit: phew...OK...the copyright flinging has ended...for now. i would like to ask if someone could check if any of these copyright tags are implying the character tags listed there while i go back through and sort out what needs to be aliased/implied and where to.

also, lol @ tag_panic tag. never has there been a more fitting tag for such a post. well, that and absolutely_everything.

22. should characters in a style like post #722358

be tagged with lipstick, or some equivalent? It could be the style of the lips, but the visual effect is similar - identical

-

Additionally, is there a tag for that particular body movement? (grinding, undulating? idk. Too many colloquial terms to list any specific one as well)

Nah that's definitely intended to be lipstick.

There should be a tag for a character rubbing their pussy against the corner of a table.

Maybe "table_humping"?

We have pillow_ride which is obviously pillows, wooden_horse which involves the BDSM object, and grinding solo which is just about everything else. So "grinding" seems like the best option, but the wiki says it is for rubbing against someone, not something.

This might be a repeat, but I just noticed comic -dialogue. Not all comics contain dialogue, of course, but about 1/3 of the above results do contain dialogue.

The 'missed' items seem mainly to be characters that are saying stuff but not necessarily directly conversing. Technically that may be monologue or something like that, but the definition we use of dialogue seems to cover monologues too.

Use it for monologues too. Don't forget english_text, japanese_text, etc. tags while tagging dialogue.

could always take a look at... O_O holy hell! the "tag listing":e621.net/tag/index was around 1196 pages long when i last checked. how the F did it grow to 3.5k+ pages in around a weeks time?

well, you could always dig through that and sort out some of the low count tags (fixing typos, changing tag type as necessary, disambiguating, removing pointless or irrelevant tags, etc.). everything from page 510 onwards is under 16 posts and somewhere around page 1500 onwards is 2 posts or less.

edit: o.O uh...ok, dtext is broken i guess. just copy/paste that link and it'll still work. oh and you can change the page number in the URL there to skip through all the pages there as needed. quotes too it seems. :/

Pruning the master tag list requires advanced knowledge of the existing tags, to know where to move the posts. Might not be a good first project.

Whatever you want to do. There's always tons of things to do.

But if I had to single out one thing: speciestags:0 -zero_pictured order:random . There's way too many posts out there that don't have any species tags at all. Which makes them hard to search for. So, for instance, you could scan that for species that you recognize and tag them.

Another thing that always needs work is *_(disambiguation). Those should be moved under the proper tags (which are usually listed in the wiki). I'd recommend combining that search with some tag that you like (example: *_(disambiguation) pokemon), to make it feel like less of a chore.

That's probably because talking (which one can reasonably tag without there being text in the image) was aliased to dialogue for some godforsaken reason.

wiki: camp (no article there yet)

is there a character named camp now?

Not sure why post #662740 (Nsfw) was tagged with camp. Change tag from camp to village.
(longer version: looks more like a village of huts. Found commissioner's upload ( http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9195297/ ) and it does says "little village" with no mention of camp. The character is named Sekvra (apparently no camp in name).

Armpits Tagging Project

As a member of E621 for almost 6 years, I've noticed that there is a lack of pictures tagged with the "armpits" tag, compared to how many pictures on this site would qualify for it. I've decided to take on the challenge of going through all the site's posts and tagging them with "armpits" where appropriate. Along with this, I also want to increase the post-count of other armpit-related tags such as "armpit_licking", "armpit_hair", and "armpit_sex".

I've already done this very project on Derpibooru (an MLP-themed image board very similar to E621). Over there, I brought up the ~2,500 images with the "armpits" tag up to about ~12,500 within the span of one year. I hope to increase this site's repository of tagged images in a similar manner.

I hope that anyone interested in this project decides to chip in. Regardless of if you have an armpit fetish or not, I believe that chipping in for this would make many users of this site very grateful.

Thanks!

i only just now got around to disambiguating his name which happens to be coral. i've already changed the tag type of coral from character to general. oops, that wasn't supposed to be like that to begin with but when i first added pics of this character it was the only thing tagged 'coral' at the time iirc. i've since changed the character tag to coral_(codyfox) (codyfox being the characters owner and all). so if anyone happens across this guy please change or add the character tag(s) as needed.

well, i learned that lesson a while back when i started coming across numerous character tags with multiple unrelated characters getting jumbled in the search results. and that lesson is: disambiguate character tags as needed. otherwise search results for specific characters can get messy. :/

edit: assuming that wasn't the only pic of him added here of course.

25. We don't seem to have a gothic tag, for posts like post #864871

I'm tempted to create one, but it'll probably end up being used for pretty much everything remotely related - there's gothic architecture, fashion, multiple medium genres, etc. and that's not even factoring in the religious/secular and classic/modern/urban variants

Should there be a more specific tag instead? gothic_theme maybe? classic_gothic_theme?

Really don't know atm, might make a full forum about it

I like this idea.
What kind of format are you proposing for the wiki? I was thinking something like this:

tag search - instructions

For example:

-solo -duo -group -zero_pictured: Add missing solo, duo, group, zero_pictured tags to posts.

Having different categories would help too.

Large projects:

For example: As above.

Small projects:

For example: solo_focus -duo -group: Add duo, group tags as appropriate.

Clean-up projects:

For example: inpool:true -comic: Add the comic tag to comic pages.

Was this the type of thing you were thinking of?

Updated by anonymous

DragonFox69 said:

Pretty much, yeah!

Its main purpose(s) would be for easy reference. Specifically in the following areas:

  • long-term projects that are currently being worked on without worrying about losing track of them
  • documenting various common concerns/peculiarities that show up repeatedly
  • something you can link to someone else, and they'd have a very accurate idea of what's taking place sitewide with respect to current, mid, longterm, and planned tagging projects
    • documenting said planned projects
  • something you can look at and pick up right away on a whim, without having to go through multiple pages of possibly unrelated discussion about it
  • listing names/collaborations for tagging projects, so people can know who's doing what, (like the Armpits Tagging Project started by Eppleblam) which can avoid toe stepping/collision of interests
  • If everyone is more co-ordinated/this sort of info is readily accessible, then maybe tagging projects can happen more efficiently, which has a bunch of benefits (ask Genjar :v)

There are lots of others, but those are the main ones which come to mind

Nothing really constructive to add atm, but just wanted to say I REALLY dislike that tagme tag

Hope it's aliased to invalid_user one day, if it keeps being used as a catalyst for deferrentialism

Frankenstein ought to be cleaned out then. Disambiguate it into Victor_Frankenstein, Frankenstein's_monster, and whatever our tag for flesh_golem is. That's apparently not an actual tag, strangely.

Either construct or just golem. One of the many tags that haven't been ironed out yet. 'Flesh golems' are pretty rare on E621, so that's probably why that tag doesn't exist. I suppose we could add golem subtags one day. Stone golem, flesh golem, etc.

Some posts of Frankenstein's monster might also fit under monstrous_humanoid.

Ah yes, the good old days. Back when I still thought that it might be possible to actually finish some of the projects I had been working on.

Most of them have doubled in size during the past year. Too much yakking, not enough tagging..

Someone created a forced_nudity tag, which overlaps with assisted_exposure. But maybe that'd be an useful distinction: forced undressing tagged as forced_nudity, and consensual with assisted_exposure...

'course, if we decide to keep it, then someone needs to start a project to sort the forced ones from assisted_exposure to the new one.

Duplicates can and should be deleted, but the ones that might get restored (such as doujins that aren't two years old yet) should probably be kept.

I just tagged typography on post #573798 due to the evident care put into making attractive dialog text. Assuming this is correct usage (there's no wiki), then there will be other images like this, in which the lettering is a feature rather than afterthought. More a tag to keep in mind rather than a project.

(Though I guess if you were really keen you could look through text -typography and -text -typography dialogue)

Actually, -text dialogue is a legit project -- missing taggings of text. Most of the 3000-odd posts in there seem to indeed contain text (I presume dialogue is not implicated to text on the basis that the content of dialogue balloons need not actually be text but might be icons.)

Same category as mermaids, lamia and satyrs. Whichever that is. They're all over the place: chimera, hybrid, animal_humanoid, and occasional taur. It's one of those things that we haven't got around to sorting out yet, but animal_humanoid (dragon_humanoid for that one) seems like the best fit.

Taur works best for four legs + extra torso, and including mermaids and lamia in it would be a stretch.

You're right, was probably thinking of high_contrast, and color_contrast, which are both ancient and underused tags now

There's no established definition for what the flat_colors is used for, so it could really be for anything related to flat colouring

(no black lines = 'flat', if we're being technical, but I'm guessing that's not really a common observation)

Sounds good, most of the more obscure art tags really need a lot of sorting out + populating

Lack of shading, like MS Paint color fills. Most common among toony posts.
It's applicable to the examples I posted, but not something that can be used to search for lineless art.

Almost finished one of my projects: nearly every post has at least nine tags now.

Here's the leftovers (just ten posts) for someone who's less queasy about vore and gore than me: tagcount:<9.

I didn't find many badly misrated posts anymore (such as blatantly explicit content rated as safe, which was common among tagcount:<8). So that problem seems to be mostly sorted out.

Not sure if I'll ever tackle tagcount:<10. It'd take even longer, and it was already hard enough to come up with nine tags for some posts, such as blank filler pages...
