Unfortunately I'm trying to add notes to a post and seeing this behavior happening again.

I'll take a look.

EDIT: Deploying the fix now. Sorry for the long delay, fell asleep after deploying things and fixing a bunch of small issues yesterday.

Tested and confirmed that editing/positioning notes preserves position after save/reload on live site.

Not sure if it's a bug or just something with my computer... but I can't seem to use the "like" feature at all. I can still "favorite" anything I like, but if I click the like-up button then nothing happens and it's the same for down... help? :p

I'm having the same issue. Doesn't turn the button green, doesn't update the likes count, no reaction at all.
I'm running Chrome 49 on Windows XP (yes I know it's severely outdated)
Odd thing is that likes and dislikes (for images) used to work fine but does no longer.
I can still like/dislike comments though.
Also, thanks for all the hard work chasing down bugs! It's appreciated.

DText-parsing quirk, noticed at tag_group:touching (patched up by adding the empty row there now):

Apparently this kind of structure:

[section,expanded=Blah blah]

h4. Alpha

* [[linky]]
* [[lanky]]

h4. Beta
* [[binky]]
* [[banky]]

h4. Gamma

* [[ginky]]
* [[ganky]]

[/section]

Behaves as if there were [/section]-tag after * [[banky]], because there is no blank row after h4. Beta.

Editing here this DText, to get that show as code (where one, of course, uses the code-tag!) I noticed that it also "breaks"/ends/closes the [quote]-block.

Hello first time writing here.

Are you on e621.net or e926.net?

The deletion notice gives us a date of "almost 11 years ago", where in fact the takedown request happened 2 years ago

I have a problem with my account uploads, it is stagnant for almost a month at -2, I don't know if it's a bug.

"&search[poster_id]=" is for searching comments on posts uploaded by the user with that ID.
"&search[creator_id]=" is for searching comments made by the user with that ID.

Nextime didn't upload post #2355653 so the comment wouldn't show up in the [poster_id] search.

Ok, I thought poster meant poster, while creator would have been the creator/uploader of the material. Just lost in translation.

When a post gets undeleted, the deleted posts on the user profile stays the same number as when the post was still deleted.

Interesting, I'll have to see if there is a missing counter update in there.

Bug overview description.

Searching for a tag that is hidden by safe mode on e926 will show this message:

"3 post(s) on this page were hidden by safe mode (e926). Go to e621 or disable safe mode to view (learn more)."

Clicking the "learn more" hyperlink redirects to the wiki landing page.

What part(s) of the site page(s) are affected?

https://e926.net/posts?tags=penis

What is the expected behavior?

The expected behavior is to either link to user settings, a user settings wiki page, or the wiki landing page directly without a redirect.

What actual behavior is given instead?

Clicking the "learn more" hyperlink redirects to the wiki landing page.

Time of incident (if applicable).

2020-11-03, 5:43 PM

Can you reproduce the bug every time?

Yes.

What steps did you take to replicate this bug?

1) Navigate to https://e926.net/
2) Search for penis
3) Click the "learn more" hyperlink

Errors or other messages returned (if any).

Minor UI bug.
Clicking on "Discord" or "More »" on the navigation bar on top highlights both tabs simultaneously, as opposed to highlighting just one of the respective tabs.

Aye, it does indeed. It's because of how the highlighting system works. It requires redesigning how the menus work to fix it, so it's on the backburner for the time being.

I looked into this and the code to bump the deleted count back down is present and working. It might be that the counters are just wrong in some cases based on old data.

Double-spaced multi-line bold/italic/etc text seems to have newlines stripped.

Example Line 1Line 2Line 3

Single-space seems to work fine, though.

Example Line 1
Line 2
Line 3

I'm not able to add a new favorite or remove an existing one recently. In both cases it tell me "N posts pending" then "Error: undefined" and nothing changes. I'm using Tor Browser, so it is not cookies/cache issue. Looks like there is a problem on a server side.
Thnx!

EDIT #1: Right after posting here, now it works. Magic! Should post two days ago when it started. Thnx anyway!

Updated

This isn't really a bug, and also it's super pedantic and not very important, but I figured I'd share anyway. Better here than making a topic for it.

If a user tries to view an image that has been deleted, the message given is "You can not view this image". However, this is incorrect. It should be either "cannot" or "may not". Can not means, effectively, "it is possible not to", cannot means "it is not possible to", the latter being more appropriate in this case. May not would mean "you don't have permission to" which also works fine in this context.

Some WebM posts play correctly, while others don't play at all. Filesize does not appear to be a factor; I believe that the age of the affected posts might be the issue.

You could specify which files don't work, as well as which browser / OS you are using.
Or you can just leave us guessing, I suppose.

Sorry, I was in a hurry when I wrote that. I will come back later with a good amount of data.

gattonero2001 said:
None of the files above play at all (Safari, iOS 14)

this would be because safari cannot play WebM videos, and it seems not all posts have been converted to MP4;
you can see this by going to the file url and changing the extension to .mp4 — those with no mp4 version will respond with 404

the best solution is to use a different operating system (e.g. Android) where you can run whatever software you want instead of bending to Apple's will

All WebM files should eventually get an mp4 version. AFAIK, new uploads should get converted more or less instantly - it just takes a while for older posts to catch up.

Is there any way to predict more or less when all the conversions will be complete? For example, one month/six months/one year et cetera?

Well, it has been going for almost a month already.
Kira is probably the only one who knows for sure how much progress has been made.

Not sure if this is a bug. Might just be an oversight.

On an individual posts's page, in the sidebar, there is a "related" section. The links there allow users to search for similar posts using various reverse image search engines.
Unfortunately, those links use a link to the post's thumbnail, not the image itself. Usually, it's fine - but in some cases, it causes the search to produce no results.

For example, if you search for post #2304693 on Derpibooru using the provided link, you won't find anything.
However, if you use the full image - or even the sample, it will return an expected result.

Also, it would be very helpful if those links opened in a new tab, not in the current one.

There is an error when trying to submit an alias/implication/BUR that features non-ASCII characters. Or rather, when the consequent tag in an alias/implication/BUR (subsequent -> consequent) features non-ASCII characters. The error message reads "Consequent name 'glistening_pokéball' must consist of only ASCII characters"

This non-ASCII error seems to be an intentional feature (most likely to discourage folks from aliasing ASCII_tags -> non-ASCII_tags), however this has prevented me from submitting a BUR for glistening_pokeball/glistening_pokéball. This also occurred when I tried to submit the single alias request glistening_pokeball -> glistening_pokéball (however, I didn't test this on implication request). I don't know if there's a workaround for this issue.

so the problem is that the error has failed to discourage you ?
can you share any ideas of how the message could be improved to sound more discouraging ?

And that's the third time that bug has been reported on this thread alone. Sure hope they get around to fixing it soon.

wat8548 said:And that's the "third"....

yeah...I think so too. ( But I guess it's a difficult problem... )

In the first place, I don't really like the way of using "*" either.
Because it has to be interspersed with blank lines, and if someone quotes it, the screen will be filled with long sentences.
That said, I don't want to make a "wall of words"(?) by not breaking lines. ← I really might have to make this a feature.

So For now, I'm using my language's unique characters --- The so-called "full-width characters".
The characters are twice as wide as the English we usually use. Dot ⇒ "●" , Space ⇒ " "
I'd like to avoid using it on an English site, but it's unavoidable.

That was pretty dang funny
That sounds about right! Perhaps each error message could be a billion words long? That seems fairly discouraging!

Whem I'm not logged in, I can use the WASD function to go next and back. But when I am logged in, it no longer works. Can you fix it?

The artist tag rokito displays "0" as the number of posts, even though the posts themselves are displayed correctly. The tag rkt, that was aliased to rokito, still displays "50" as the number of posts. My attempt to add the tag rokito manually to a post did not change anything and it was not included in my edit count.

There seems to be an issue with (some?) aliases not updating tag counts when applied. There's a similar case with karukim having 0 posts even though there's clearly posts with the tag, while flowerdragon and karukim_art have tag counts of 45 and 5 respectively, despite having been recently aliased to karukim.

@faucet and @Watsit were unable to vote on the implication in topic #18520, even though @gattonero2001 (that's me!) and @tittybitty were able to vote.

Bump

There's no vote button for me. A similar issue happened to @faucet and @Watsit in a different topic.

I voted on that prior topic, but there's no button here for me either.

I used Safari on iOS 14 and Google Chrome on Windows 10. Both were able to vote in topic #18520 and neither were able to vote in topic #14208.

DText: Inline spoilers or the inline code backwards apostrophes seem to be screwed up, adding a line break or stretching to the end of the line when they didn't before.

More on this later as I look at it more.

The “Recent Tags” box seems to pick up a handful of random tags from an image occasionally. I haven’t done any specific testing to try and find what causes it or if there’s a connection between the tags it picks up, but just tag a bunch of images using the recent tags and you’ll see what I’m talking about.
My leading theory right now is it’s something to do with implications.

It's implications. Unless you're getting some weird behavior I've never seen in my recent tags.

Hi, I'd like to ask if the Blacklist function is actually functioning properly.

Am I doing something? Because I'm seeing stuff I seriously dislike when trying to find good stuff.

Please, check that the filters in the sidebar are active. If they are crossed out ( like this ), click on "Re-enable all" to turn it those back on.

That works just fine.

I am not searching for the post page, I am searching for the adress of the image in that page.

I didn't want to link it here directly because it's cub and I assumed that it would be frowned upon. However, if that's fine, it's the following:

My link is different from yours. Perhaps it is related to the country of origin?

Sorry, it's me failing to read again. Ugh. It's been a rough week.
Yeah, your link returns error 403 for me. Interesting. I'm guessing that's what the IQDB encounters as well, resulting in the error being produced.

You can try replacing the br.ib.metapix.net with nl.ib.metapix.net when searching for an image. I'm not quite sure what other solution could be found for this issue.

No problem. As I said, it happens to me all the time.
Both my link and your link return the image normally for me. This is very interesting indeed.

Is there something special about the Netherlands (I assume that it's what the nl refers to) in this situation?

I don't think so. But e621's server seems to be able to access it, while the one from Brazil (which is what I assume br stands for) it can't.
Absolutely no idea what this region locking is for.

@bitWolfy could you clarify something for me if it's not too much trouble?

  • When I upload from Twitter, there is a preview in the uploading page.
  • When I upload from FurAffinity, there is no preview in the uploading page.
  • When I upload from Pixiv, there is no preview in the uploading page.
  • When I tried to upload from Inkbunny using the Brazilian url, there was no preview in the uploading page and no uploads from (site) are permitted message, but when I changed it to the Dutch url, both worked fine.

Why aren't there previews for FA and Pixiv? Or perhaps there are, but for some reason they do not work for me?

Might be a related issue. For me, there are previews for all of these sites.
Can't replicate the exact problem on my side, though. I used a VPN to get a Brazilian IP address, and I'm still getting the Netherlands server on Inkbunny.
