Kinda spoiler ahead about the Zelda timeline:

Wait, Ganon dies? Like Die Dies. Like he's never coming back or anything?
Geez I didn't think link had it in him, when did this become a thing?!
If he does it in BotW then how does he pull it off with a handicapped glass master sword?

Ganon dies for good in Zelda II, which also means the Game Over timeline, where there isn't a sustainable population and extinction is a certainty within a couple generations, is the only timeline where Ganon is gone for good.

I'd say, Tbh I never given Zelda II a second glance until now. Geez, That's dark. At that point anything they would have done would have just been a token effort, Even for ganon. Because ultimately their just f**ked ._.
Game over, The world ended and there's not much you can do about it.

Guess, They could keep the timeline going after the peeps if the monsters set up a society. Now that i think about it that would be pretty cool since a world/game like that would turn out like one of my favorite games of all time dood! ◠‿◠)

With it having suddle adventure time like hints to the world it use to be. ╹‿╹)

any of you guys happen to know of other good top-down games like this i could try out? either actual top-down RPGs or top-down shooters.

i've tried some of the original divine divinity games before and while good...not exactly what i'm looking for. maybe something more along the lines of action RPG like diablo. and i've already got diablo 2 and have tried the torchlight games before so those can be skipped.

Also Death Road to Canada and The touhou series

Are the only two top down shooters i really know of dood. Sorry ◠‿◠;)

touhou is an entirely different genre. it's of the vertical form of a side-scrolling shooter.

as for death road to canada. looks interesting O.O at the 0:20 mark. is that the guy from the studiofow videos who goes around wearing that horse head mask? might check this game out, it looks fun.

the kind of fun i like: pure chaos! >:)

actually, scratch that. i'll check it out after my next 2 ps4 games which should be in within the next few days (maybe today). Nioh (was looking forward to that one after seeing tyranniconr's let's play of it.) and mass effect andromeda which i'm not holding my breath on. the reviews i saw for andromeda were...so-so.

Nioh... the loot system looked something like diablo while the combat looked like dark souls. should make for an interesting game. oh and it's japanese themed. goodbye boring western mythology, hello interesting far east mythology and stuff.

always did find japanese and other eastern nations culture and mythology/history more interesting than western stuff.

dynasty warriors rant

except for when it comes to dynasty warriors games. the sheer repetitiveness of the maps and combat in those games is SO tedious after a while. that alone makes those games hard to beat. well, that and china's super soldier: Lu Bu. warning: if you ever enter a fight and hear Lu Bu's theme BGM start up. drop everything and RUN as you WILL die if not over lvled a good bit. dude is easily the single strongest warrior in the franchise.

i've seen Lu Bu in action myself. even if he decides to ally with you, you stay out of Lu Bu's way or he will turn around and fuck you up if he so much as feels like it.

darn, koei... they gave Lu Bu and a certain few other warriors some REALLY fickle AI's that are very unpredictable. iirc there was one warrior (female) who would repeatedly ally with you only to turn in the middle of battle and STEAL AN OFFICER OR TWO IN THE PROCESS! wtf, you bitch?!

if it's not that girl stealing your officers it's Lu Bu going bipolar and psychotic. constantly changing sides and killing whoever goes near him. >.< oh but he certainly has some good themes throughout the series. i can't deny that. he may be a pain in the ass but he has good music when he appears. you hear that theme start in any of the games and that's the warning sign for your doom if you stick around too long.

samurai warriors... huh, that's an interesting remix of his theme. not as loud as most versions.

o.O i forgot there was a Dynasty Warriors Online game at some point. bet Lu Bu was fun to challenge in that game.

i've never liked seeing region locks on games. especially when you consider that japan literally gets at least twice as many video games as the rest of the world. and by that i mean they get around half of all video games while the other half gets spread across the world. and they get some really good games too.

katamari being of the type that is really simple yet strangely fun.

a number of which have gotten fan translations over the years (older games like PS2 and older) thanks to emulation.

Summon Night Swordcraft Story: Beginnings Stone

this one's been a WIP translation for years now but at long last it's slowly nearing completion. the summon night swordcraft story games are actually pretty interesting. they largely revolve around crafting (crafting weapons of various types that is) and dungeon crawling.

here's the 'beast' type partner you get in the first game. Kutty

that series is definitely worth checking out and is quite good for GBA games.

Summon Night: Swordcraft Story
Summon Night: Swordcraft Story 2

i don't remember the title right now but theres also a SNES (or was it genesis? i forgot which) game i'd like to see fully translated too. it's one of those rare games where you play as the bad guy instead of a hero. i think it was this one called Dark Law but i'm not sure.

hmmm...no, it wasn't Dark Law.... oh well, i just remembered another game you might find interesting.

FEDA: The Emblem of Justice for SNES.

FEDA is a strategy RPG which features a rather unique (for the time anyway) system where depending on how many good deeds or bad deeds, some of your allies may join, leave, or even betray you. theres also a bunch of emblems that help show your good/evil alignment. it's pretty good overall. good length too. plays similar to the early shining force games iirc.

O.O notkastar... i just remembered a game you will LOVE if you like side-scrolling shooters. it's one of THE best i have ever played. have you ever heard of Jets 'n' Guns?

well, after playing Nioh and Mass Effect Andromeda some i can safely say that the former of the 2 is pretty good and the latter of the 2...oh man, you better believe the reviews when they talk about the graphics.

so far, andromeda is not bad. the graphics however...where do i even begin? good framerate, but the draw distance is all over the place. for some things it's like 1-15 feet away, other times it's clear across the map. texture popping like you wouldn't believe and the character model animation is iffy at best.

but aside from that, the combat is decent, the multi-choice conversations bioware is known for is there as always, theres crafting & research to do...so graphics aside it's not bad. and of course, the planet scanning from the main map. >.> not much different there. some planets/asteroids/etc. have an anomoly, others don't, and i guess it's just main targets you get to explore for the most part. not much has changed in that regard.

Nioh on the other hand. a loot system similar to diablo (random loot drops and money). the combat feels similar to a Souls game but faster and more agile. and while, after a couple hours, i've yet to finish even the first mission it's pretty good. haven't seen any weapons break yet (are you sure about that durability system being in Nioh, notkastar?) but then again i haven't made hardly any overall progress either.

edit: oh and i forgot to mention in my last post. FEDA also features several non-human characters. wolf, fox, think there were some bird anthros as well. that's always nice to see.

and on that jets 'n' guns game theres one level that might make you consider keeping the difficulty set low. theres one stage where your forced to use a ship with no weapons and fly through loops or something while dodging bombs as part of a race. it gets exceedinglydifficult to finish at higher difficulties. so watch out for that one.

Furrin_Gok said:

yeah, that system works really well for those games and is partly what has me interested in that translation project. will the crafting system prove even more complex than the 2nd game? just have to wait and see. :)

well, back to andromeda for now.

edit: F these damned remnant decryption puzzles (different link as that articles title was misleading. it did NOT have all puzzles listed.

theres the solutions if anyone playing this game wants to skip that BS. i ain't ever played sudoku which these seem to be based on and after seeing these i don't want to try it.

Figuring out some more Nintendo Switch data.

The save data archives for 8000000000000000 and 8000000000000124 work the same way. Though, the data portion is weird.

Actually, I don't know why I didn't mention this, but a friend and I are working on a game together. It's a text-based roguelike, with inspiration from Brogue and ADOM.

Also the plan is to eventually have some saucy text scenes. But, unlike most porn games, the intent here is to make a game first, that stands on its own as something fun, with the sexy bits secondary.

This is the most recent public version, though it's a bit out of date by now.

Keep in mind that this is very much a work in progress. And when I say that I don't mean "oh, the game is unpolished", I mean literally major mechanics haven't been coded in yet and there isn't an end to speak of - you just reach the end of the floors populated with level themes, equipment, and monsters (all at different times, no less) and things start to get a bit chaotic.

Anyway, despite that, I think the core mechanics are fairly fun, and even if incomplete, you can probably get an idea if this is something you might want to keep an eye on.

nioh is now version 1.07...

and i don't think i'm gonna bother updating.

1. the new pvp related titles and whatnot added with this update are meaningless to those of us who don't have PS+.

and 2. apparently Team Ninja redid the math on how much amrita you need to level up. with 750 being the lvl cap for this game, the following is beyond insane:

Elleena: "Why do I now see Lvl 749 to 750 = 238,328,328,893,289 you are on 238,328,328,893,288 die and then die again because you forgot the oni near the shrine."

238.8 trillion amrita needed. are you Fing kidding me? that is just cruel and with the math redone, it also resulted in many people being deleveled with around half of the work they put in to hit that cap taken away.

talk about giving people a reason to not update...new content is good but reversing all that work? no thanks. i'll stick with the unupdated version where it's at least possible to hit the cap.

well, at least it's still my choice as to whether or not i want to update the game. until sony pulls some BS and takes away that small amount of control from us end users. and what a surprise (not really since devs on the PS4 seem to hate people using the thing), media player doesn't work with this game either (not getting my hopes up for andromeda).

anywho, the cat spirit you meet in mission 2 nearly got me killed just now.

in this particular case it led to a chest and a platform just above a guy holding a key.

Yes!

Minda's/Majora's Mask and Phantom Armor is nice too.

Dem hard mode enemies on floating platforms though.

"Trial of the sword" eh? Wonder if that means it becomes unbreaking again.

Something I've been thinking about a lot is the lore in Kirby games. The existence of everything you see in modes like Arena, True Arena, and the Dedede/Meta Knight modes is canon, but the events are not, which means that characters like Sectonia and President Haltmaan are actually still alive in their "Soul" mode. I wonder if that means we'll get a return from them, outside of the puple goop clones.

I find it kind of odd how I actually enjoy slider puzzles because of Runescape's Clue Scrolls, yet I have never understood Sudoku that much at all, although the Andromeda puzzles shouldn't be that hard, since there's not too many games that really use Sudoku, unless it was specifically a Sudoku game.

that reminds me of the first onimusha game. it had some of those slider puzzles in it. easier than the sudoku ones except there was a catch (as there always is >.>) and that was the puzzles tended to have a timer. take too long and your partner would drown or something.

i can do those well enough to not need a guide.

andromeda doesn't have that risk of game over wth the puzzles but it does have the annoying aspect of summoning a squad of enemies if you mess up and set off the security. again and again and again until you get the puzzle correct.

some types of puzzles i'm good at, some i'm not. that however can likely be said of everyone.

oh and speaking of puzzles. let's not forget tetris and Columns among other tetris clones.

*game starts* meh... *lvl 5* faster... *10 lvls later* faster faster faster... *another 10 lvls with the eyes darting back and forth* fasterfasterfaster... *yet another 10 lvls* faster...endlessly accelerating to maddening lvls of speed!

it's easier than it would seem if you get a good pace going and accelerates your own actions as the game speeds up. think i once made it from lvl 0 to 40+ on columns... SO fast... lol

I feel like I was the only one who enjoyed the Runescape Slider Puzzles. Everyone always complained about how hard they were, but I just didn't understand how. I remember some conversation where everyone seemed to be saying that it took them around half an hour for each, and I swear I just don't understand how it could take so long.

Slider puzzles are piss easy. If it takes them half an hour to complete a 5x5 puzzle then they clearly don't know what they're doing.

I purchased Deception IV. It's blatantly a handheld game ported to console, but that's okay -- I mean, my favorite Metal Gear game was the same way.

There's something incredibly comforting about having games like this and Doom available.

well, i went looking for something new (as in, anything i haven't already played) to try on PC the other day and found a pretty good FPS ARPG series.

well, the 1st game is sluggish as heck despite having more than met the system requirements and putting the settings as low as possible without the hud going off-screen.

the 2nd game hit an error and wouldn't play. so i can't comment on that one.

the 3rd however is only slightly sluggish but otherwise works fine save for one oddity. when you start a new game or load an old one you have to let it sit there for a bit so it can render everything. dunno why but it doesn't have a loading screen for that. still works fine aside from that though.

the titles are 3079 which looks like a minecraft clone (it's not though). 3089 which...well, it hit an error like i said and wouldn't start up for me so i dunno what this one is like. and 5089 which is nothing like minecraft.

5089 has some interesting art design to it too. almost none of it is "cube" form but rather polygons. the robots, the landscapre, buildings too. it's all early 3d-ish with lots of angles and stuff. oh and like with the first 2 gmes, buy a grappling hook as soon as you can cause the landscape can get kinda hard to navigate otherwise (heck, even with a grappling hook you may need to do some interesting maneuvering to get up particularly steep slopes).

they're fairly good ARPG games. just wish i could figure out how to get 3079 to run a bit quicker... i wonder if that trick i used years ago to get minecraft to run better would work (something i edited somewhere in the games java settings i think).

A super good ARPG for anyone on the market for one would definitely be Grim Dawn which is a very good old-school Diablo 1/2-esque ARPG set in a post-apocalyptic version of a renaissance-era medieval fantasy world. Great atmosphere and writing, great combat mechanics and character development, and the depth of character build diversity is incredible. My only complaint, honestly, is the lack of aesthetic character customization; I'd love to be able to play someone other than a generic muscular shaven-headed white dude or a generic hot brunette. That said, the camera angle is such that, especially due to the assortment of hats and helmets in the game, I never actually spend much time looking at my character's face, so it's not really a fault that I can ding its 'score' for.

I know this sounds like an advert for the game, and I guess it is, but I just really feel this dev team deserves support and would love to see more people playing this game, especially on multiplayer where I can join them and wreck demon face alongside them.

looks like i missed one in that series. 4089: ghost within

grim dawn...

hmmm... 2.3 GHz processor speed... well, i can always do the most obvious solution: tweak the graphics settings. that might help...maybe.

yeah, it definitely looks like a diablo type of game.

"Dual Class – Combine any of six distinct classes with over 25 skills and modifiers per class. Base classes include Soldier, Demolitionist, Occultist, Nightblade, Arcanist and Shaman."

this is something you don't see too often in most games. you can dual-class like in dungeons & dragons among other games which opens up a lot of play style possibilities. and 25 skills & modifiers for each class...that's no small amount of variety and potential right there. that's a total of...100 different skills not counting the item skills (or maybe it is, i dunno).

Necromancer plus Priest = Dark Priest! or something like that. if the priest has AoE healing powers that works on you summons then that could be a great setup. and that's just one example of what multi-classing. :)

"Hundreds of Item Skills – Augment your class build with a diverse array of over 250 unique skills granted by items and equipment add-ons."

interesting but not entirely new or unique i think. i suppose this might be interesting if it can grant skills from other classes. if you can only make use of item skills for the 2 classes you chose to play as it's just buffing those skills which is nothing special.

"Collect hundreds of Items – Common, magical, rare, epic and legendary classes of loot. Plus over 20,000 possible magical affix combinations and over 200 rare affixes."

generic aspect at this point but 20k+ different affixes does have some good potential for good or interesting things to come up.

"Quests with Choice and Consequence – You will face tough decisions that leave significant impacts upon the world. Strangers on the road, desperate families and even entire villages may live or perish based on your actions. Currently over 35 quests with 75+ lore notes to be collected."

now this, this is something worth noting. your decisions have significant impacts on the world. if they did this well then it could work out to be an awesome aspect of the game. and i don't mean Fable 3 "awesome". >.> ugh, that game was horrible. true, fable 3 DID have this aspect in it but in the end, the changes were largely meaningless. but that was then and this is now and maybe the devs of grim dawn did a much better job at making this work well and have a more meaningful impact than people in the game either loving or hating you for your choices.

edit: oh and good news for anyone wanting to try that 3079, 3089, 4089, 5089 series. looks like those are all multiplatform (well, different PC OS's but still). you can them for windows, MAC, or Linux.

well, that was cringy. well made...kinda but still very cringy.

Bonecraft...a sex game based on warcraft. considering the graphics quality it has, it ran VERY smoothly on my laptop but after the tutorial it would start hitting lag spikes every few seconds causing it to freeze for a moment.

well made but the porn side of it was generic and cringy. not sure whether to recommend giving it a try or to advise against it. cause on the one hand, it runs great and has combat in it (could use a higher camera angle though) but on the other hand, it's cringy generic sex animation/audiob plus the character voices sound like cameos from various sources (star trek, DBZ, etc...).

there's pretty much nothing in regards to the sex that can't be found here in various forms.

whooo...that was one tanky ass mofo...

got Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star in today and it's designed like...dynasty warriors! so it's apparently different from the rest of the franchise much like dragon quest heroes.

anyway, 2nd story map and none other than Toei's reigning badass gets summoned onto the field. big bad Lu Bu!

while he wasn't too lethal at such a low lvl (i'm currently lvl 5), he had his typical tankiness and took around...i wanna say 4-5+ times as much damage as the first boss did to finally take him down.

so yeah. even chinas super soldier is in this game. if i hadn't chased after that guy my team mate would've likely died fast against lu bu. he must be a main fighter in this franchise though as he didn't have his own theme BGM this time. but regardless, if he appears, his defeat takes priority ASAP.

as for this game so far... tbh, i really don't know much about the Fate/ franchise as this is the first of those games i've played. it's interesting but the way some of the characters act (like Nero Claudius who is a female in this game apparently. pretty sure he was male irl which leads to some of the text sounding kinda odd. i think they get the genders mixed up slightly with her script here and there but no major mistakes...yet.) it strikes me as something of a harem doujin themed rpg which i'm not overly fond of. i mean, they're ok just not particularly to my liking.

that aside though, the gameplay is solid overall. the combat is dynasty warriors but with some additional stuff and changes. you can craft armor...well, i think it's armor. it doesn't do anything aside from granting different spells to use like healing, decoy, or buffing/debuffing. you can set various skills...oh and theres no musou attacks...well, kinda. you fill up this one gauge and it lets you do a big AoE combo attack. there's also a transformation you can do though in some cases it's mainly just one big attack. like with Cu Chulain, he shouts his spears (Gaea Bolg) name and throws it to launch a huge attack. the transformation is more like what you'd expect of a normal dynasty warriors musou mode.

overall it's not bad. it uses that bland old room based map system Toei is known for which kinda sucks (ugh, i'm so tired of seeing the same thing over and over in new games you idiot devs! it's the same as Enix and dragon quest/warrior.) but i guess it works well enough.

honestly though, it's enough to make me seriously ask: have we finally reached the point where AAA game developers no longer have anything new to offer?

with Toei it's this old reused map system and combat system with a few tweaks or changes to it here and there for each new game. for Enix it's that damned dragon quest asset flip shit where they will NOT make anything NEW for the games or if they do, it's very little and is like adding paint onto a turd.

i am sick of seeing the same thing over and over. oh well...back to this game. i've got it here now so no point in sending it back when it actually isn't another shitty game. just reused systems and whatnot.

Tales of Berseria... let's see what extras this game has.

several static themes, all free. that's nice... oo, a menu theme. nice looking too.

DLC includes...dunno what these Catalogues are for...item packs...all of which are free... wait, WHAT?! you can buy double gold, double exp, buffs. DLC to raise your characters lvls and max hp...wyh you greedy ass devs? that is what i'd expect of micro-transaction scum that designs freaking korean MMORPGs!

and apparently this is a 1-4 player game... well, guess i'll avoid any multiplayer aspects should they be available. seeing as i don't want to play a game with those who literally by their way into power rather than playing the game and earning that power.

*sigh* anyway... the catalogue DLC is a little big at around 30-50MB+/DLC so that might be content if i'm not mistaken. these item packs i'm grabbing must be free loot you'd otherwise get in the game. stupid but not quite as stupid as buying stats and stuff for your characters. i'll check out the catalogue stuff later tonight.

money money money...that's all these big name devs care about. oh well, can't be helped i guess. well, that's the item packs gathered so on to the actual game.

i'll give my opinion of the game itself later once i've played it some. it's a "Tales of" game so i'd expect it to be decent at the very least. lol can't be worse than andromeda was.

edit: still in the prologue section but so far it's all pretty good overall. the cutscene (FMV?) they show before the title screen looked great. well animated and everything as did the first in-game cutscene so that's good.

moving around on the field...well, nothing special there. just running around and stuff.

combat starts either in events or when you touch an enemy on the field so no random fights. the combat system remains the same good ol' Tales system reminiscent of street fighter only in a 3D space rather than 2D now. no complaints there. still using the martial/hidden Artes and whatnot too.

i already like it better than i did ME:A but part of that may be that it's more of an old-school style of RPG. i'm sure things will get more interesting later on though i am curious as to where all those item pack DLC went to... they weren't in my inventory when i started the game so i'm not sure if they come up later or if you need a save file THEN download them...

A few days ago, I just wanted to listen to a remix of any Wonder Boy 3 (SMS, 1989) song. I had no idea a remake of the game had been very recently released. PC version coming soon™ June. Developer site.

I hadn't considered that the anthropomorphized player characters would pass for furries, but the new models made it more obvious (see: wonder_boy:_the_dragon's_trap). Lastly, no, I'm not part of the bandwagon. Aside from stuff like Super Mario World and Tetris 2, this was the first good game I ever played.

the heck is this shit? so, apparently for tales of berseria you first have to download each of the DLC catalogues THEN using each of those you can browse through and choose which REAL DLC to purchase/download and access it.

so, not only is it BS. it's 2-step BS. i'll have to download the other 4 catalogues (all 5 of these are free at least) THEN i can access those free item packs.

downloading DLC to access other DLC... just make the whole freaking game DLC and be done with this BS already! that seems to be what game devs want these days.

item pack #1... seriously? -_- 3 of each: apple gel, peach gel, life bottle, holy bottle, dark bottle...

so 2 different healing items, a revival item, and 1 that raises and the other lowers encounter rates.

there is absolutely no point to that when you can buy them in-game at just about ANY shop.

Why couldn't they just make it based on GRADE like in earlier games, then just raise the price for the base game?

heck if i know (greed pretty much always plays a part though no matter what anyone says.) but speaking of the GRADE system in these games. you might find it interesting how you learn new skills.

it looks like they use a combination of the AP system from FFIX and instead of using AP to master skills via equipped items, you now master them by earning this GRADE currency.

so you get a grade of 1.0 in a fight then at then end of the battle, all skills on equipped items advance by 1 point of mastery. even better is just like FFIX, once mastered, the skills remain on said character even when not using that particular piece of equipment. it also makes grinding combat more useful than merely getting exp/gold and item drops. :) oh and the best part? if you master any skill on a piece of equipment then keep wearing that item it doubles the power of the skills in question.

no crafting or anything like that unlocked yet but theres also the title system which of course, boosts various abilities like always. looks like some titles have multiple lvls too. a good bit of the systems are the usual Tales stuff seen in most games.

yep and there's still some things in the menu to be unlocked. equipment has random skills on each piece (so shops don't just have each piece of equipment in a stack now) as well as 2 slots with ??? above them so theres yet more effects to unlock later on. 2 whole menu sections to unlock as you progress. one might be synthesis related.

well, almost finished with supper so i'm gonna go back and finish this big bat i found. i saw it had a dark aura on the field and thought it'd be a different version and i was right.

normal bat: 1080 hp, winged monster

bat baron: 9047 hp, winged/beast/armored monster

lol should give some good exp and maybe a nice item drop when i beat it. :) also has higher stats too though.

Star Ocean games, you would pay to unlock a set of skills, differing options in each town, and then had to still spend sp to actually have them on each character.

iirc those were mainly for ID'ing unknown items in the past. right?

oh and i just unlocked something else: blacksmithing. looks like you can gather materials and enhance or dismantle equipment in this game. so far, the list of things available just keeps on growing.

i think i also saw something about "expeditions" earlier when i was checking the forums at gamefaqs.com for how to access the DLC. not sure what that is but you have a ship in this game so it might be related to that. also read something about a related title(s) and that it has the system clock exploit.

devs, why are you putting features in CONSOLE games that are tied to the consoles system clock? i mean, it's a known exploit for TONS of PC and online games but really, console games too now? they better find a solution to that exploit sooner or later. anyway, guess i can make use of that later.

edit: ok, so those 2 mystery slots on equipment are unlocked as you enhance them like this. all the way up to +10...once more key items that unlock it are found of course.

They were for IDing monsters and other enemies. Hidden information in the bestiary would then appear. Most of the information was hidden aside from some small bits unless a magic lens was used.

And I think expeditions were from the quests in ToS:DotNW. The quest givers were basically cat fursuiters.

It's a prequel to Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean. I suggest EWatLO be played with Japanese voices, as it is infamous for abysmal English voice acting. Origins has good acting though.

Hearing the regular battle theme from Origins, you'd never guess it's not the boss battle theme. It also sounds like if you did some pitch shifting, you could play both battle themes at once.

ok... never heard of any of those (that looks like a good sized acronym so that title must be pretty long or so i suspect) but i'll check them out some time.

and in other news, mario kart 8 has evolved! the deluxe version now comes with what basically amounts to making the game a zero-player game. auto-accelerate and smart drive. or would that be a devolution?

edit: and enough of the youtube diversion... oh, hello...

Amber Garment enhanced to +1 > enhancement skill" reduce stagger duration by 5%", huh, nice and it raised the defense for the item too. oh? sweet! +2 > said skill lvled up to 10%! +3 > 15%

so not only does enhancing raise the stats and unlock skills, it also enhances the unlocked skills too. very nice way to add value to items.

It's beautiful. Both the music and the general feeling of how everything is designed. The music was the same guy as the Tales games.

Here are the OSTs for EWatLO and Origins in case you feel like hearing.

You may have heard one of the songs from Origins before.

If you think Valley of the Wind sounds like Return to Zanarkand, it's actually the opposite. VotW was composed first.

huh, it sure does sound quite similar. alway's liked Jetch's (or was it Jecht?) theme "Otherworld" out of FFX most myself but those 2 are quite similar overall. and with 53 tracks...EWatLO must be a decent sized RPG. the few i'm listening to now sound real...peaceful too though i'm sure not all of it is...oh! here we go, Brave Way sounds more like a theme for a major event. yet it still has a similar feel to the others...

looks like 5 of the videos in that playlist were deleted and this one (violent storm) must be a battle theme. pretty good one too, reminds me of star ocean's battle themes somewhat. or perhaps something from one of Gust's Atelier games. think i'll go ahead and download that one. :) violent storm...with a name like that it must be a nice battle when you first hear that theme.

now for origins...Valedictory Elegy, hello star ocean though this is less electronic sounding. this one has some big similarities to a few star ocean battle themes. but unlike those it's got very little, if any, electronic instruments to it. gives it a bit of a different feel this way.

ah, here's the electric guitar. Evidential Material, sounds good too. those games had some good music alright. :)

awww... gamecube games? i can't play them even if i wanted to then. no gamecube and my wii is long gone since it broke and started suffering severe overheating issues. well, at least theres the good music and i can always watch let's plays of them.

edit: ok, 7 or 8 more areas to unlock/complete on the expeditions menu (using that system clock exploit to just speed through them >>) and i just sold all the loot i got from finishing the first 13 areas (vendor trash i mean. not crafting or cooking stuff) and WOW at the results. not only did that make my money shoot up to 64k+ but it got me a few shop lvls which means bigger discounts when shopping as well as a few items that unlock new abilities and stuff. ^_^ very worth it to use this system for money. even if it is via an exploit.

oh and it seems there is in fact 2 different swim wear costumes for everyone (and one special costume for clearing all expeditions). the one found in the expeditions for each character and the DLC one which looks a lot better imo (hmmm...well, maybe i could get 1 dlc... i'm sure lophicet would look really cute in that costume.).

seriously though. if you want fast profits, use this system and exploit it. you'll get thousands of gold in no time at all. and i don't remember, what game was the Orosoren race from? Tales of Legendia? if so, this expedition stuff has references to other games in this franchise...i think. pretty sure one of the locations was the main area for one of the games too but i'm not 100% sure of that one. Centurion Isles...the treasures might be references too. if anyone wants, i'll give a list of locations and the respective treasure you find there.

awww... gamecube games? i can't play them even if i wanted to then. no gamecube and my wii is long gone since it broke and started suffering severe overheating issues. well, at least theres the good music and i can always watch let's plays of them.

edit: ok, 7 or 8 more areas to unlock/complete on the expeditions menu (using that system clock exploit to just speed through them >>) and i just sold all the loot i got from finishing the first 13 areas (vendor trash i mean. not crafting or cooking stuff) and WOW at the results. not only did that make my money shoot up to 64k+ but it got me a few shop lvls which means bigger discounts when shopping as well as a few items that unlock new abilities and stuff.

Centurion Isles...the treasures might be references too. if anyone wants, i'll give a list of locations and the respective treasure you find there.

if you have a Wii U, there is a way to still play Baten Kaitos, although the way to play them are kind of in the grey area of being kind of considered piracy if you don't happen to own the game in the first place.
