Topic: all things video game

Posted under General

well, i was rather skeptical of this game when i saw it had a 7.something review average and a used price of $9 on gamefly but technomancer is actually fairly good.

no forced sounding voice acting, the combat is well done, good character customization... it's better than i thought it might be.

combat is split between 3 roles you can freely switch between with a shortcut menu for items and powers. and there are guns but mostly you rely on melee aside from your technomancer powers (aka magic).

crafting for making consumables and upgrading gear.

skills, talents, and attributes... the attributes and talents are nothing special but the skills... you get 4 skill tress and each tree has passive and active skills. active skills give a choice of 2 more upgrades once unlocked. so theres some good character customization right there.

several weapon types (knife, mace & shield, staff, various miscellaneous weapons) to choose from.

it's pretty good.

and i also see i have a ps4 system update to install later. i wonder what's changed this time. hopefully sony hasn't made things even MORE restrictive.

oh and good soundtrack for this game too.

edit: well, it's not as crngy as that one anniversary event. >.>

darn stupid... well, the internet was out for us most of the day today. which means i got a chance to see just what else was locked on the ps4.

media player, now i find that you can't change your "themes" settings without a psn account if you want to use any you downloaded off playstation network.

downloaded any games off psn? better have the physical discs for them on hand cause without a internet connection and PSN account they're all locked up. even Stardew Valley which i bought and downloaded not long after getting the console. nope, no internet, no game, end of discussion.

if i EVER buy another game console i'll be asking around to see how much bullshit the devs did like this. and the one with the lowest amount of bullshit will be the winner...unless it's just as bad as this.

man, those Let's Players have it ROUGH with sony this game generation. i'm surprised by how little i've seen of this in the media.

Wonder if this works for Splatoon 2 Global Testfire. Couldn't get a Switch in time, so can't test it myself.

considering this exploit relies on the games "connecting..." function timing out after a couple minute it might work for other games if they work the same way. nothing game breaking but it's still an interesting exploit.

edit: The Sonic Oddshow Collab - DoujinPixelation... 30 minutes of fun from at least 20 animators this time! ^_^

now then, i have some sweet remixes to look up.

oh and undertale fans should definitely check out the 14:20 mark. ;) that would make a fun boss fight in a romhack or something.

er...my bad, had the wrong time there.

Uzbekistan bans video games

i had never heard of this particular middle eastern country till i saw this video. and given that it is a middle eastern country, a stupid ban such as this and the stupid, easily disproven reasons for the ban should come as little surprise.

Recently finished Return to PopoloCrois, and wow. The final boss was leagues harder than the ones before it. Took a lot more damage, could nearly oneshot my weakest member, and was the only boss to use status ailments against my team, meaning I had to use the handful of Panaceas I never thought to buy because the only other enemies who could inflict ailments also died in a few hits, and no ailment lasts beyond the battle. Kind of a surprise finale that I actually had a threatening enemy simply because it confused my team into whittling their own health down so it could finish them off despite my full heal every round.

Also, been playing the "original Trilogy" PopoloCrois(Single game comprised of two Japan-only games translated to English plus a third inbetween bonus saga) on the PSP. Contrary to RTP, the original game started characters off with extremely low hp, and simply made enemies do 1-3 damage per hit. This didn't make it safe, however, as a few dangerous enemies had combo attacks that could hit several, if not over a dozen times. Quick one hit KO if you aren't careful around them until you level up a few times and get your hp past 50.

oh man, was that game ever worse than i thought it'd be. just got done trying out the game, 20XX and either the version i tried was outdated or the game was just poorly made.

i had an armor piece that lets you double jump but the way platforms worked (or rather failed) had me bouncing on any that moved vertically which meant i might either jump normally or waste the double jump. aside from that, yes, it is pretty much a MMX clone to some extent. different armor pieces (i saw 4 sets) and you could mix them for different combinations of abilities.

plenty of power-ups aka augments to find and unlock.

after a while (especially when there's a lot of enemies and other shit on-screen) the frame rate starts getting really bad. those system requirements are BS.

and it is indeed like the description says in regards to lvl design: it's all procedurally generated.

edit: and that was while using my PS$ controller! don't even want to think about this game with keyboard controls.

Updated by anonymous

anyone here ever played the sega genesis game, Nightmare Circus? quite the obscure game (don't even bother looking for a cartridge. it'd likely be expensive if one even exists.)

complex 6-button control scheme (yep, it's one of the few to use a 6-button controller), hard lvls, and...it's just a pain in the arse to finish in general. especially the bosses.

think i beat it once and i feel like giving it another go after talking about it with stalkerd. cheats for hp and whatnot are a must for this game. i just hope i don't get lost and confused in that evil fun house maze. >.> gotta pay attention to the wall design in there to get through.

tbh, i'd advise watching a let's play instead of trying to go through it on your own. heck, i don't even know all the controls myself. oh and there's a password screen at the title screen (zaddamzbazzaar or...something like that to unlock it) if anyone wants to dance with a password system that uses 10+ digits. yeah, i found a wee bit of info on that around 4 years ago... that's my forum post linked on The Cutting Room Floor website. yay...swamp lvl...i ain't ever seen no swamp lvl in this game so i don't have a clue where that came from or how anyone found that password. 10+ digits...a-z 1-0...that's billions of possible passwords.

hmmm... hey, furballs, when your posting all that technical info about games do you ever happen to dig through a games files and code and stuff? if so, perhaps you could try digging through this game and see what mysteries you could solve or uncover. maybe find more passwords to test and see what happens.

But real talk, that does seem like amount of money which someone like me, who plays with everything except xbox, could still even consider paying. As long as they keep it at that there shouldn't be causing too many problems. Of course I would prefer to pay nothing, especially when if I don't even use the other features included with the payment that much.

:) cool, i figured as much. and yeah, it's surprising what gets left buried in the game data sometimes.

unused Zero palettes section. hello...is that Mega Man X6's "Nightmare Zero i see in the middle? yep, that went unused and hidden in the resources of all of the first 5 games.

ok, so it was 12-digit for the passwords. password screen text:

"Roll up! Roll up!

Try your luck at discovering the secrets within the Nightmare Circus"

and as the INDIAN SWAMP password shows, they can have spaces between the words used. and i was mistaken, numbers aren't actually used. just a-z and !.

actually, here's a longplay of the game which it seems i need to refer to.

there, made it to the final boss. the demonic ring leader.

o_O ok...

edit: yay, DQH2 did indeed ge the same treatment as Toukiden 2.

they made pretty much everything a whole lot better. which leaves me curious... if they did this good with these 2 sequels then might they repeat the process should they make a DQH3 later on and make it even MORE awesome? i mean, they're clearly on the right path with improving things like this.

also, huzzah for more and more games joining the ranks of those that off multiple options regarding the accessibility of "multiplayer" content! ^_^ much like with toukiden: kiwami and toukiden 2, they have made it so that offline players like myself can access the multiplayer content without having to pay sony for PS+.

well, kinda... it is the same multiplayer content but offline access treats it as single player mode content so technically it's just extra content for no extra cost (and who in their right mind would ever complain about that?) which beats offering it as DLC or something equally stupid.

like i said in my last post there though, i wonder if they added new environmental hazards to this 2nd game. we had only mud which slows your movement (unless you start jumping through it) in the first game. i wonder if they added more like the dreaded poisonous swamp hazard in the 2nd game.

and i wonder how they changed or improved the NPC AI. i think they improved it with toukiden 2 so they probably did here as well. maybe make your allies fight a bit less passively and instead give them a bit more aggression in their tactics.

DS and Wii also required WEP or unsecured wifi access on specific channels and speed was really questionable to the point of being unuseable for almost anything (I had DS browser on Lite). Playing with friends was also based on friend codes which changed for every - single - goddamn - game. Now on top of all that hardware limitations and nintendos complete "we don't know wtf we are doing lol" approach to online, then think about all the actual games which took any advantage of the online features, it's pretty clear it wasn't great idea to keep it up even if it were paid service. Didn't see many cry over it and it won't kill me that I cannot play Tetris Party Deluxe online anymore.

Release of Wii U and 3DS fixed problems from both hardware and nintendos own policy.

And I do understand that it's console manufacturers service which needs maintaining which then costs money. But it's still something to think about, because somehow PC platforms are keeping themselves free to use while also selling the games themselves cheaper. Looking right now I can get Tekken 7 on PC 49,99€, on PSN I need to give 69,95€ AND also pay to play it online. Why am I paying so much more for the exact same game, both in digital format and service to play it fully?

I do still pay for PS+, but I usually buy it when I get it cheap or if the deal has couple extra months in it to keep overall cost down.

here is some helpful info for those who dare enter the Nightmare Circus

the controls are quite complex for a game of that time. especially a console game. here's what i figured out while playing it earlier today:

A - context sensitive kick. either a knee to the mid section or high kick depending on the distance from the enemy. context sensitive...how the f did they manage that in a genesis game? oh well, it works.

B - high > mid kick combo, not context sensitive.

C - block

X (the button above 'A') - punch or backhand spin attack if you press and hold the d-pad to move backwards then immediately press this button.

Y (above the 'B' button) - uppercut...that's about it from what i could tell.

Z (above 'C') - context sensitive...multipurpose special move button. >.> this one does a lot of different things.

Z 1. if used on the cloud of smoke a boss leaves behind it absorbs the bosses power...i THINK. i could be mistaken.

Z 2. if you jump or bounce up to a rope or ledge (not one you bump your head on) then hold Up + Z, you can grab and hang from it. there's not much controls from there but you can press X and do a backflip with a big arc. might cause some fall damage (yes, they even did fall damage in this weird game) but it can cover some good distance.

Z 3. in the final stage when your crawling through the tunnels and stuff (this took me several minutes of screwing around to figure out) you can use this to climb the vertical shafts. stand up then turn left or right (if there's a ledge above3 to climb up then you need to be facing that direction or you'll slip and fall), next press and hold up + forward (whichever direction you're facing) and press Z to start climbing.

Z 4. when in "spirit" mode, this button now shoots a...soul...ball? it's kinda like the hadouken but different. good for stunning bosses if they don't block it.

now comes the 6-button controllers "Mode" button. yes, they even used that one with these controls.

hold Mode + Y - this switches to what i assume is a sort of "spirit" mode which... hell, i think it boosts your attack power...or something? the whole color scheme of the room your in changes too.

hold Mode + A - remember when i said Z could absorb the boss smoke clouds? well this activates that power...whatever it is they do. i honestly don't know anything beyond this.

you can also press Down to squat and crawl from where you can punch forward or kick backwards.

this is as far as my knowledge of the controls goes in this game. there's the slide, and other stuff shown in that video but i don't know how those moves work.

----

truth be told, the bosses share a lot of your own move set in nightmare circus. in fact, the fun house boss (hall of mirrors) spawns exact copies of you only they don't have that spirit mode stuff.

oh and speaking of, you first have to destroy all the spinning pillars THEN kill the clones to win that fight.

as for the puzzle areas. the roller coaster is a pain (gotta time your jumps carefully) but the ferris wheel and fun house are actually 3-d mazes (well, ok, the ferris wheel stage isn't a maze but it's not simply 2-d either).

in the ferris wheel there's 2 sides to the stage and you switch sides when you go up through the top section. after that is the chain link fence part which is a circular loop just like the bumper car section.

the fun house is a 4-sided 3-d maze. stand in the middle of each room and press Down to rotate it in the direction you're facing. there's 4 sides to each room. that's why you have to mind the art on the walls in there.

it's a surprisingly complex game for its time. and i would be most interested to see what comes up if you decide to dig through it, furbals. :) as this is one obscure game that hardly anyone knows anything about.

heck, even at the cutting room floor website, there are functions of that "tweaker" menu that they which they don't know how it works.

ok, enough putting it off. time to download and try out Nightmare Creatures for the psone.

??? server not found for emuparadise? *hits F5 a few times* ??? o_O *hits ctrl + F5 several times* ...ok, there it goes. lol for some reason it wasn't loading or connecting properly. i KNOW that website is still up and running. that one is highly unlikely to just drop dead all of a sudden.

edit: oh yeah, i just remembered a japanese exclusive i had on a psone demo disc a long time ago called Gangway Monsters. it's an interesting game that plays a bit like beyblade or "Tops". except you have a monster riding on top of them fighting each other.

it'd be nice if... i might know where i could request a translation for that actually. japanese > english of course.

edit2: :/ no Nightmare Creatures tonight. i forgot emuparadise throttles their downloads during the weekend peak times. oh well

edit3: scratch that and you were right, stalkerd. this game does play similar to dark souls. well, minus the RPG lvling of course. decent beat-em-up combo combat.

edit4: figured out another move in nightmare circue. press and hold 'B' + the opposite direction you're facing to start back flipping slowly. also, 'A' + back to do a kick behind you and there seems to be 2 different run modes. a medium speed auto-run and an incredibly fast sprint but it's hard to get the timing right for each of them.

Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 - Reveal Trailer

once again, PC gamers are proven to be superior to consoles and handhelds. and a big game publisher shows how they prefer to rerelease old games to milk as much money as they can from an old IP.

sad that this won't be on the switch? well, you can always look to emulation. i'm fairly certain the soundtracks of these old game can still be found online.

yeah, sorry capcom but this is a waste of money. why don't you let us know when you actually have something new to announce cause this is 1-2 decades old upon release. and that's like when square enix tries to rerelease FFVII yet again.

sucks how Capcom isn't really willing to make a new Megaman nowadays, but considering how a lot of old IP's are treated under Capcom, I'm not sure how a new game would've been. I also looked up how much releases of FFVII there are, and there are currently 7 different versions of the game released today, and the episodic remake coming out whenever SE finishes it, there will be 8 rereleases.

edit: well, i ordered DQH2 yesterday bt i had to get it from amazon as gamefly only had it available as a rental. should be here somewhere 12-16 this month. and yes, the "world map" is indeed done like toukiden 2 with it split into different territories.

as for this first games heroes... i think they return but only as part of the multiplayer content. or single player lobby mode for those of us who don't buy multiplayer for games we already purchased. i'm really liking how more and more devs seem to be doing that as it doesn't lock anyone out of that extra content.

edit2: DQH quests...

Maps to the max 1... a desert map and almost all the enemies are large 3 slot types. O_O; seriously?

Maps to the max 5... seriously?! again with all but 2 being 3 slots? these places better give MASSIVE exp cause those Type G0 robots alone have over 3k+ hp each and hit as hard as freaking Psaro.

wait...why do all of the large monsters have !'s by their hp bars? ...??? do they only spawn once per trip to these extreme maps? i guess that's fair.

O_O HO-LY CRAP! 1.5k+ exp from just 1 of these monsters? yeah, this is worth the risk by far. this is the most exp i've seen a monster ever give in this game. i doubt even the metal slimes could compare. well, king metal slime might.

edit3: good news for steam users!

Steam says goodbye to Greenlight

edit4: Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 - Reveal Trailer

this is sad. :/ so many people complaining "but there's no switch or 3ds release!".

walk over to your nearest pc, download emulators for a few consoles/handhelds and you can play all of the games being offered in this collection. want the soundtracks? go on google and you can find them without much trouble.

there is no reason at all to throw money at this obvious attempt at milking more money from old games while not releasing anythng new. if anything i'd be more surprised if capcom didn't cancel whatever their next megaman project was or blame the fans for its failure (yeah, we all know how legends 3 went). it's not like they're not known for shitting all over the megaman fanbase. >.>

they do have the nickname of "crapcom" after all.

install... you know, this game came with a decently sized manual back in the day. 183 pages plus the credits and EULA bs way in the back of it. phew, ok THREE CD's. almost misplaced the 3rd one. this is just the base game btw. i can only use the expansion if i go and download it again and...keygens don't produce multiplayer games so if anyone here wants to join me you'll have to use non-expansion characters only.

install disc > play disc >

lol man, it has been SO long since i had to install a pc game this way. and it's fairly slow too since blizzard compresses everything into these massive .mpq files.

ok, installed and patched successfully (and i have a copy of the offline 1113c offline patcher if anyone else needs it. now i just need to make a new battle.net account (unless that one i used with D3 is still active and works with D2) and i'll be good to go for multiplayer. ^_^

edit: and my necromancer is ready to play. also, it looks like the current version is 1.4b, not 1.13c.

edit2: i think i'll just stick with

password: 0mn1

up to 8 players when i make a world on there. i think it's the US east coast server.

install... you know, this game came with a decently sized manual back in the day.

edit: and my necromancer is ready to play. also, it looks like the current version is 1.4b, not 1.13c.

edit2: i think i'll just stick with

game name: treos
password: 0mn1

up to 8 players when i make a world on there. i think it's the US east coast server.

Unfortunately, my three copies of Diablo 2 got ruined. Wonder if it's available in digital package.

Depends how much worse Battle.net is than before.

you're in luck. Diablo II (loving that animated diablo skull face there. that thing looks evil. :))

and product page

looks like D2 can be bought digitally for the low price of $9.99. pretty good considering how old it is.

hmmm...looks like the expansion is up at the same price too. maybe i could get a copy some time and finally have that the legit way. >.> the way that works with multiplayer.

edit: might anyone here know the current system requirements for terraria? last i tried the game it was badly laggy and i don't know if it was something they screwed up in an update or if the system requirements got higher and my laptop not longer met them sufficiently.

i can play minecraft just fine though cause it has this weird thing where the memory usage rises steadily to a certain point then drops and it repeats that process. think i saw a youtube video about that long ago (probably when i last was reading about the "far lands"). and that actually works in minecraft's favor big time as it means even a low RAM system could run the game for a good while so long as the other requirements are met.

the memory it uses when the amount drops increases a little each time so it's kinda like a controlled memory leak. it'll build up eventually but it'll be such a slow buildup that you wouldn't notice it for quite some time.

what's really odd is that I can find the Battle Chest version at my nearest Walmart... 17 years after the game's release.

seriously nintendo? wtf? now i have to go somewhere else for snes games because apparently nintendo hit emuparadise.

all mario games (well, all games with the word 'mario' in the title) and apparently pokemon too have been purged. seriously, wtf nintendo? are you planning to do like crapcom and rerelease those old games to milk more money out of them?

...yep, just checked to make sure and all pokemon games have been removed from the handheld sections too.

why do these game companies seem to hate their fans and consumers so much? they don't even make these games any more. for most people emulation is the ONLY means of playing them once the company stops making copies. it's not like i can go to the nearest gamestop and buy a new snes and some snes games.

edit: not once did i ever think i'd have to find a different website for old games that are no longer produce irl since i found emuparadise. not once... well, nintendo proved me wrong.

edit2: oh well... if there's one great thing i've learned about the internet over the years it's that if you want something, the internet will provide. and luckily that type of website is fairly easy to come by.

I found that Romhustler still has Super Mario games and Pokemon games. It's a shame Emuparadise lost all pokemon and super mario titles though, as that place is my favorite site for getting roms, and as of late, PSP games or PSP rereleases of PS1 games.

They're apparently making a new Bubsy title as well now, for PC and PS4. I'm wondering if the game is going to include another pilot like the first Bubsy PC game did...

true and the hardest part of the search for a new site might be finding one with as wide a selection of console/handheld/etc. coverage as emuparadise.

wow... i haven't heard of a new bubsy game in well over a decade or 2. lol don't think i ever beat the old genesis games either for that matter.

huh, looks like there was another bubsy pc game released in 2015 too though i never heard anything about that one. Bubsy Two-Fur, maybe this one was a rerelease of the genesis games for pc? yeah...that's all that one was. the first 2 games repackaged together under a new title.

accolade...no games since 1999 then suddenly they reappeared in 2014 and released the game, Eradicator, for linux and MAC. and now this new bubsy game. huh, i guess even game companies can be necroed sometimes.

What was annoying was before I found emuparadise, any rom site I found required you to vote them up before you could download the roms. Hopefully those sites have all died in fires now.

Try consoleclassix. Only the NES and 2600 are free though.

I used to like Coolrom back in 2011 or 2010 when it still had Nintendo roms on the site, now when I visit the site, it's some shady website with terrible download rates unless you used their shady rom downloader exe files.

yeah, i stopped visiting coolrom when that started too. if there's no solid info on it somewhere on the site then i ain't letting ANY random exe or add-on touch my laptop or browser.

o_O do they charge for other consoles roms? if so...is that legal? granted the whole roms thing in itself is kinda iffy but still...

edit: Sub-Terrania Playthrough Part 3 (Mission 9 & Final Boss)

granted i was cheating when i beat it. the gravity and water was brutal in this part of the game and that final boss...madness!

but the reward was...worth it. get a load of those sweet pre-renders and that ships 3D model looks VERY nice for the time. all reflective and shiny. likely one of the hardest physics based games i've played but it wasn't boring (frustrating at times but not boring).

plus it has a great soundtrack. :)

from the website, it says that you can access all games for $6 by upgrading your account to a premium account. I believe this is in a legal gray area since you're not supposed to be charging to access roms that are so easily accessible without owning the full game, but the part that puts in the gray area is that you're only being charged to create a premium account, which helps the site while the creator(s?) get more old games on to the website.

that makes sense and vizzed is probably the same way when it comes to donations.

I believe Emuparadise also takes donations to keep the site running.

Speaking of Emuparadise though, they'll take Mario and Pokemon games yet they'll never take down any of the cartoon episodes on Emuparadise.

BE VERY WARY OF ATGAMES' UPCOMING SEGA GENESIS FLASHBACK CONSOLE!

3:04 not 5 seconds in and i want it to stop. now that's bad.

edit: also, update on the emuparadise situation.

looks like the nes mega man games are gone, along with the snes MMX games and the zero games for gba.

MasJ: "EP still has over 100,000 retro games and will continue to have a strong library available for as long as possible. I don't think it's the end of EP and we have many big plans for the future"

yeah, that may be true but there's no denying nintendo has dealt the site a big blow with these removals. especially considering how much people like those franchises.

here's the thread i'm following over there.

the question now might be: what games are up next on the chopping block and when?

this makes it sound as if Capcom actually plans on caring about Megaman. I hope that Disney games aren't next, considering how this takedown, judging by how Capcom came into this situation as well, is aimed at how the games are related to a compilation pack came out recently.

Kingdom Hearts 3 just got a new trailer, although this trailer also advertises a new trailer dropping in a few months, I kind of hope this means that there's a chance we could get this game this year, although that's highly unlikely, considering how it's Kingdom Hearts we're talking about.

The GTA Online Gunrunning Update is coming June 13th. This looks like another major game changer that has me hyped to jump back in to the crime-ring of Los Santos. With new added features and fancy toys being added with the bar of success rising once again; Is anyone else going to be excited to try it out ( or just complain about how someone killed you once, and say the game was a 0/10, IGN)?

To my unending shame (or would be, if I ever felt that emotion) I have been playing Runescape again. Oldschool Runescape, mind you. I can't stand Runescape 3. Fun times.

Skyrim on the Switch was probably my favorite part, the Creation Club ruined every other part of the Conference for me, though, since Creation Club is just paid mods under a different title.

I think the only problem with paid mods was the poor implementation of it and the fact that after the funds were reversed the devs were forced to keep supporting them under threat of banning, as in, being forced to continue providing for free something they were already promised payment for and never got.

this new system feels like the thing that Minecraft Pocket Edition is doing, I'm seriously hoping this is just a one time thing, or else anything developed by Bethesda will be a guaranteed pirate for me.

stupid eye bothering me again...

well, i got DQH2 in today but it was the UK box with english disc i think cause the game is in english but the box is in multiple languages and has the PEGI age rating instead of the ESRB so that had me worried till i started it up to make sure. might be able to start playing it tomorrow if my eye is better. well, i hope i can anyway. :/

it is SO hot here now that it's summer time. window unit is sitting at high/cool/70 with a small metal fan set to medium or high and it STILL gets up to the 75-80+ range in my room in the afternoon. it's nothing but miserable for me right now. especially with one eye hurt like this. >.< oh well...cya tomorrow i guess. hopefully with both eyes open.

i HATE summer!

isn't the PS4 completely region free? I feel like you shouldn't have any issues playing the game on PS4 considering how the PS4 is completely region free if I remember correctly.

European versions of games usually have multiple languages built into them, with english usually being the default. They sometimes apply this to the manual as well.

Harry Potter games go a little overboard with this by having about 12 language options, including two different english options (US and UK) which also affects the game title (Sorcerer's Stone for US, Philosopher's Stone for UK).

Pokemon Sun and Moon both got 9 languages, and I feel like the games after Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon may have even more language options.

yeah, that might be the case here.

and... now that my eye is feeling better and i can try this out for real i can safely say from a very early point that it is WELL worth the money compared to the first game.

more shops to be unlocked than in the first game (you start with the weapon and armor (orbs in these games) open.

then there's the vocation system which will be more open as i progress which means multiple classes to choose from (each with access to 3 different weapon types). weapon proficiency which unlocks plenty of new abilities and skills... on top of the various stat/skill boosts/unlocks from lvling each class (warrior to start with). i think there's now a shop where you can buy ingredients for gold rather than mini medals now but i'm not sure as it's not unlocked from the start (same for the alchemy pot). whole bunch of other stuff too and OMG they made the multiplayer for this game COMPLETELY free! O_O i tested joining a multiplayer lobby and there was no PS+ alert! that is SO awesome! unfortunately, i'm not too sure how well my connection might hold up but it's something to try out from time to time. and sure enough, the world (now divided into 7 or so kingdoms) is now largely an open-world map with minimal loading screens outside the multiplayer content. ^_^ goodbye and good riddance to the dynasty warriors setup! but with that said, i think we all know the implications of this... a world war. lol if that prophecy holds true then the whole world could be plunged into war and this time there are vastly more monsters to fight. :) easily 4-5+ times as many. and something called a marked version of each monster species? i dunno but i guess those would be stronger than the normal version or something. and just like with toukiden 2, former bosses can now spawn out in the field. like the Hunter Mech monsters. edit: O_O wow... 2nd major fight (well, part 2 of it) and the map is already about the size of a battlefield from around 3/4 of the way through the first game. and that is a large map. so even the scale of the major battles has been expanded. wonder how big some of the endgame and post-game battles will be this time.

alright, now for Megadimension Neptunia VII... boy, that title's a mouthful, huh?

*starts new game* ...? what? a 2nd title screen? what is this ZERO Dimension Neptunia Z: Twilight of the Desperate CPU? o_O so what, is this multiple games in one or...what is this? well, whatever this is, it has good music.

i have no idea what this game(s) is. oh and apparently that might not be VII as in 7 but rather V-2 or so the voice actor said at the...main? title screen.
