extremely low system requirements for such an advanced game yet still not quite good enough in the frame rate department and i don't particularly care to play console games with runescape tier graphics. bleh :/

due mostly to that, i never bothered checking out skyrim modding much. even when i rented it for ps4, bethesda's mod download system was crappy and buggy so i didn't do much even then. darn menu was VERY unstable. it'd kick me out of the menu most of the time while merely browsing and other times it'd randomly log me out and repeated login attempts usually failed. it'd also have trouble loading screenshots and stuff too.

the reason why Skyrim runs so well on low end PC's because of somewhat decent optimization, of course, there is the cost is that the game's original graphics actually looking admittedly terrible, in Bethesda fashion. If you want to have the game even better, there is this Ultra Low Graphics mod to get the game to run on even worse graphics! there's even a way to run the game on 64mb of vram...

People like to mod a old game into a new engine
kinda reminds me of Vice City mods that was remade to GTA 4 and 5

nah, i'll just wait till i get a new computer.

but speaking of graphics, guess what got a graphics update. Is it worth it? Starcraft Remastered

and i mean ONLY the graphics.

"but muh graphix"

no...go away, there are much more important things to a good video game. (granted, horizon: zero dawn did feel a lot like playing a movie, it was very well done. it was pretty evenly balanced overall.)

tbh, i'd just go look for a new game but then again, i'm not into that "e-sports" shit and don't play games as a job but rather for fun which what video games were made for.

Sonic Mania - All Bosses & Ending

lol no way... well, i hope you guys like Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine cause that's the chemical plant boss!

wow, talk about making a game multi-genre...

oh YES! metal DOES come for a rematch! ^_^

wait... O_O that's what robotnik used in the movie to complete metal.

?! silver sonic...? no...that model is from the comics iirc... what is this?

and to top it off, that fight is 2.5D not 2D. geez, just how much work did they put in this game?

ah, so that's how Nack, Bean, and Bark play into this game. the uh...what was that desert zone called? they're the main boss of that zone. well, them and that magician in the hard boiled heavies.

wha? sonic 1's final boss fight? no, that's... sonic CD? o_O with a big machine that spits out mini versions of old bosses... ok...

uh...hello amy *1 second later* goodbye amy...bot? lol

and next is sonic 3. boy, this game is just all over the place with these bosses.

well, not to see the secret boss...

O_O missiles that can actually hurt super sonic? woah...that's a rare sight.

:/ if those are the endings then that's a bit of disappointment compared to the pre-order and intro cutscene. oh well, the rest of the is great, i'm sure.

edit: Agents of Mayhem is having performance problems on some PCs

looks like people might want to hold off on getting this game for a bit as it looks to have some pretty severe problems right now.

that's really odd about Agent's of Mayhem, you would think that Volition would've been more well optimized since this is the same company that made the atrocious Saint's Row 2 PC port where they actually hired IdolNinja, the guy behind the Gentlemen of the Row mod that fixed almost everything wrong with the port, and then some, to help out with future games. I'm wondering just what is causing all of these framerate issues...

I'm also wondering why the hell Johnny Gat is a cop in this game, anyways, he clearly hated cops throughout the entire series, since this series is canon to the Saint's Row series, and the canon Gat out of Hell ending didn't really make Johnny Gat like cops any more...

awww... i see no demo for sonic mania in the psn store. :( i did however get to see the file size of the game. just under 200MB which is pretty large for that kind of game with pixel art.

just think, all of the genesis games together would probably be less than 10MB so this probably says a lot about the content in mania. :) well, that and maybe the soundtrack.

according to a quick google to a rom hosting website, a full Genesis set downloaded would be 627 Megabytes in total.

speaking of sizes, I shouldn't have neglected Elder Scrolls Online, now I have to download a 44GB update, and I haven't launched ESO since some time just after the Morrowind expansion came out, and around the time Lazy Game Reviews made his video on it. I'm wondering if I should buy the DLC four pack or just skip buying much else since my interest dropped in the game very hard once I actually beat the "main story" and realized that the final boss fight had the most impressive stuff in the game, where the final boss would actually try to pick you up and destroy you while you were temporarily powered up and he had over 1 million health, but other than that, the game was everything you expected from a mediocre MMO you can install for free off of Steam...

I am probably going to buy Trails of Cold Steel or Final Fantasy 10/10-2 if I decide against buying this DLC, though...

i'm not getting involved in these worms...

youtube comments on whether or not Bean, Nack, and Bark's appearance in mania makes them canon... i'm just going to enjoy the fact that they're in the game.

theories on how classic sonic from mania wound up in forces (see mania's super sonic fight + ending)... again, not touching it.

that dumb arguing and speculation is why i don't bother much with anime or video game fandoms. i'll sort it out myself when i get both games. less pointless drama and arguing that way.

Inishie Dungeon

the text on the page describes it as a "Dungeon exploration Action RPG" but i think it's more along the lines of diablo in a number of ways (oh and don't burn the counter then open that chest by the warehouse NPC unless you want to fight a truly hellish battle).

pretty good but there are some issues... apparently it uses an energy system but i've yet to have any problems with that. what i DO have issue with, however, is the revival system. you don't have permadeath in this game but you do have a rather harsh restriction: death = 6 hours (irl hours) before you can revive said character!

pretty harsh but not too bad since you can always delete or make more characters. and speaking of, you unlock more classes as you progress and mind the weapon specialties of each class. if you try using a weapon type your class isn't good at (a fighter trying to use a wand for example though there are exceptions like the flamethrower wand and ice beam wand) will result in an incredibly lengthy cool down for the weapon in question. whereas a mage using wands and whatnot would get MUCH shorter cool down times for them.

85 floors down and counting and i'm STILL not at the end so...yeah, it has quite a bit of content. the majority of which is translated but not all of it.

and yes, it's a flash game but a pretty good one. well made too since i got stuck on one of the 70's floors and had an insane amount of combat happening with little to no lag so it performs very well under pressure. :)

um...i think the last boss i fought was the hydra... yeah...that's very far down but be careful if any of you eventually reach it as it is tanky as all F with 150k hp! took me a while before it finally went down.

Holy cow. Level 3 and I decide to go explore town. Cows named "Ushi" in Japanese, centipede from old legends popping out of the grass and burning town down, what the hell is this stuff? I'm wondering if I should maybe be avoiding cutting grass and stuff for now.

lol my reaction when that first happened but don't worry, the town and those NPCs who flee from the fires return to normal when you enter/exi the dungeon or just go up/down stairs in a building. plus those centipedes can be allowed to go near the NPCs who will slaughter them giving you some nice starting exp and weapons drops.

really though, as you progress you'll eventually find that those centipedes are nothing compared to the floor 80+ variety which are green and can stun lock you. :/ that tends to happen a lot at such depths unfortunately.

oh and speaking of, beware of lightning + water... obvious reasons as to why.

Dark Souls Weapon Swap Mod Challenge Run

let the madness begin! lol

there are a growing number of game randomizers being listed on romhack.net. castlevania games...mega man, metroid, phantasy star, final fantasy (a note about the mystic quest randomizer. put the game in the same folder as the exe and replace spaces in the file name with _'s and remember to put the file extension at the end of the name. i had to sort all that out earlier to get it and the other randomizers made by that guy to work.), and now dark souls...and the list keeps on growing.

looks like video game randomizer programs/mods are a thing now and maybe growing in popularity. definitely something worth checking out. oh and as always, no asking where to obtain the necessary games. ;)

oops, forgot a quotation mark for the link up there.

edit: even better with Dark Souls III!

I wonder how a Dragon's Dogma weapon switch mod would be like, but it'd probably be boring for most classes, as the only classes that would have different weapon changes decent would be the Magick Knight's and Magic Archer's, and you don't really unlock them until you finish a required escort mission early on in the game...

and i dunno how well that might work. a pawn randomizer (if possible through the magic of modding) might be better for that game. i haven't played any of that game since my 360 gave out on me one day and started to burn itself up. (not too surprising an ending for a 360 tbh)

and i never bothered to try the pc version. might play it again when it comes out on ps4 though. i would say that game has multiplayer but only just technically through the sharing of pawns. (here's hoping sony doesn't be a dick and require ps+ for that stuff since it was one of the odd games that didn't require a paid xbox live account on the 360)

oh and i wonder what generation those insane japanese players managed to push that repeatable dragon fight up to by now. assuming that still happens of course. that dragons stats are (the multiplayer version of the fight that is) likely LONG since capped by now though unless they changed it so that probably isn't too big a concern.

The same could be said for pretty much any system you're not used to using.

SystemRatings
ACB G PG M MA R X
ESRB EC E E10+ T M AO
PEGI 3 7 12 16 18
CERO A B C D Z

I think that's about right.

true and there seems to be a diablo ii randomizer...

well, not really. it's one of those random text generators that just spits out a set of rules for you to follow while playing the game which, tbh, is pretty lame and not a real randomizer. i would be hesitant to add any of those to that list if i was maintaining it.

edit: Nier Automata shipped. i think that one was made by the same people who made the drakengard series so hopefully it's good. i think drakengard started getting a little strange in the later games of the series. what with final bosses turning into rhythm battle rather than flying shooter battles.

actually, iirc, the last drakengard games final boss was such a difficult rhythm battle that most of the let's plays for that game use a copy/pasted video of the fight someone did. some let's players probably give some form of notification of this but i doubt all did so if you watch a let's play of the last drakengard game and that fight scenes seems odd, that's why.

the vast majority of let's players couldn't or could just BARELY beat that final fight. i guess not many people aren't that great at following a musical rhythm (that and apparently the audio queues got almost completely silent at the very end).

cause i know Freya rightfully deserved the title of "Strongest being in the universe" in the ps2 game. iirc, even on the lowest difficulty (earth) she could very easily wipe out well made lvl 255 parties if you weren't careful. enix made her extremely dangerous even by gabriel/EQ standards.

i would think it largely depends on compatibility between all of the mods. cause if there's even one that's incompatible with something in the mix, the whole mix fails and the game crashes or something.

that and you have to take into consideration the fact that more and more mods means higher system requirements over time with all the added content and features and whatnot.

i can resize that list on the far left (all games, available, CHD, etc.) just fine but the ROM column is broken and won't expand to the right. it just keeps shrinking inwards to the left.

No, cause it happened to me on Genesis years ago. Could maybe find some if you look.

I would like to play a Fighters Megamix sequel,
if no one knows what that is
think of it of Sega's "Marvel vs Capcom" and "Smash Brothers"
but only with Sega's mascots
but not all of them...

If they did do a sequel,
bring in the Streets of Rage, Golden Axe,
and Altered Beast characters in,
heck have the Sega's Daytona Horse as a hidden fighter,
and Shenmue is coming back so toss in Ryo Hazuki as well.

ok, wtf is wrong with MAMEUI?

wtf can i not click a drag to the right and expan each list? it's only letting me drag to the left (the little left/right symbol that appears when you try to resize a window among other things) and shrink each list.

i can resize that list on the far left (all games, available, CHD, etc.) just fine but the ROM column is broken and won't expand to the right. it just keeps shrinking inwards to the left.

edit: EA claims they put Gamers over Profits (and no one buys it)

well, of course no one believes you, EA. we all know you don't give a shit about gamers beyond squeezing money out of us. like all big game companies.

that MAMEUI looks decent if you've ever used any programs made in the early 90's or seen TempleOS.

why does EA think it could fix it's name, anyways? every other year, they release a flavor of the month game they would most likely ruin due to typical EA business, and considering all the blood on their hands from all those companies they destroyed after forcing them to make terrible to mediocre games, like Mass Effect Andromeda for BioWare, iOS Dungeon Keeper for Bullfrog Studios, and SimCity 2013 for Maxis, the only reason EA has stayed alive for so long, is because a lot of people who don't care about these issues still support them through FIFA and Battlefield...

hmmm...which console had that massive mortal kombat romhack with like 30 or so characters? could go and ask about this on the romhacking.net > forums > rom hack discussion >
Hack ideas: for those without the skill but with all the ideas. thread.

romhackers can do some truly amazing things.

never heard of that OS before but the layout does look kinda similar. i just need to find a solution to that dividing bar thing and i can use MAMEUI64 regularly again. it's no good if i can't tell what i'm clicking on.

and the replacement copy of Nier: Automata works!

pretty good game from what i've seen so far. they combined the shooter and flying aspects with the typical melee combat quite nicely. oh and talking to this one NPC, i just learned this game has a touch of Soulsborne in it. if you die, you have to recover your previous body to get all your items back. die twice and well...we all know how that goes. :/

that's a pretty nice feature From introduced to rpg gaming.
