When searching, only certain thumbnails will load. Many other thumbnails are replaced by the alt text, and this happens to the same images each load. E.g. when searching keller, post #1041085 and post #888606 will never display, and post #2103837 always will. However, there doesn't appear to be a significant difference between the images that do show thumbnails, and the ones that don't.

When opening both images that have and haven't displayed the thumbnail in search, the image will often just be replaced by the alternate text for the image. E.g. post #1041085 will load for approx 20 seconds, and then display the image "keller and thresher (patreon) drawn by veyll". Interestingly, if I open the image itself in a new tab, its displays the actual art.

Info: I'm on a 30Mbps internet connection, running Firefox 74.0.

Probably bad javascript support. I've made piles of posts about this, a few are even on this page, so I won't go into more detail here.

Is there a way to fix Javascript support? I'm still struggling with it and it's frustrating. I'm still using Internet Explorer.

I don't have any personal experience of IE, nor any experience of browsing on Windows for a long time, so the best I can do is direct you to this forum thread about IE .
But the short answer is probably as Kiranoot says there:

even if fixed to explicitly support IE11, it's going to break in other areas and really, please, stop using IE, it doesn't support any security features that you should be using at this point, and most of the CSS will be broken on it, so you're just pushing the problem along to another point.

I'm not sure if this relates to connectivity issues but whenever I load in, thumbnails, images and WEBM's don't seem to load at all. I refreshed the page numerous times but I still can't get it to pop up.

this is just some extra information regarding the cloudflare problem; might be of interest to anyone using proxies/VPNs to work-around it

i read that apparently some ISPs charge a premium whenever cloudflare traffic passes through parts of their network,
as a countermeasure cloudflare will attempt to route traffic in a manner that avoids these expensive links;
this would explain why from two internet connections (from different ISPs) in geographically the same area can end up connecting to different cloudflare nodes.

this is the kind of thing i'm referring to: https://www.theregister.co.uk/2016/08/18/australias_telstra_and_optus_outed_as_two_of_the_worlds_six_most_expensive_isps/

i still have no clue about why some nodes are failing to access e621's file server though.

Updated

I have a problem as now sure how to resolve it. I can't open, play, download, or access videos. GIF, flash and images are fine. I get the error "No video with supported format and MIME type found". The webpage is showing this when I click the download button.

https://ibb.co/cwfT6Sh

Quick tags don't add a tag when their string appears anywhere in the tags input, even in the middle of another tag. That is, you cannot quick tag knot on a post already tagged with a knotting tag and/or by the artist thighsocksandknots.

Quick tags do remove tags as expected, however.

I dunno if it's also happening on PC, but on mobile no new thumbnails are loading, and clicking on the post has the site struggle a bit before giving up on loading the image. Trying to download them simply results in a 522 timeout error as well.

Pictures aren't load, neither are videos or the thumbnails, idk if it's a client sided issue and i hope im not alone.

I tried several pages to see if it gets fixed and nothing is loading

Same thing for other user's PFPs, they aren't loading, and after a while it just gives me a the text name of the picture

Well, you could try.. reading the last 2 pages of this thread, in which it has come up multiple times....

Same. I logged on and there aren't any thumbnails or anything loading. It's all dots and rankings.

I made a comment before but hid it when I thought I was just having client-side issues.
None of the content (pictures, GIFs, videos) are loading, and static.e621.net doesn't even load for me. On top of that, I think the site is stuck in the legacy theme.

the homepage counter doenst work. theres actually over 2m images on the website but it says there are only 1.8m

None of the files (posts) are loading (seems to be a problem on static1.e621.net, since it won't load but e621.net loads just fine.) The problem persists on all the platforms and browsers I've tried. My guess is that part of the server is down and it should be fixed soon or just a bug, which should also be fixed soon. In the meantime, I'll just wait and have a nice cup of coffee.

Here is an official statement from an admin.

We are aware of problems loading images/thumbnails/flash/videos. They are outside of our control and are intermittent regional issues. They appear to be related to the generally very high usage of the internet at large. Some people have reported success with using a VPN that routes traffic through the united states. Your mileage may vary.

Please stop reporting it as a bug. D:

Maybe, this will stop people from repeating the same thing over and over again.

When I search fav:name ~female ~gynomorph order:random, it outputs like I had searched fav:name gynomorph order:random. This happens regardless of which order I put the tags in, and seems to work with any tags, always only giving me the ones from the tag that returns the least results. Interestingly, when I try to search fav:name ~wolf ~cat ~mouse order:random, it gives me posts that are tagged with mouse, and posts that are tagged with both wolf and cat, again, regardless of what order I put them in.

I just tried searching fav:name order:random solo ~male ~andromorph again, now it's giving me all of my posts tagged with andromorph & solo in a random order, then all my posts with male & solo in a random order, and it only displays one page of results even though I know I have more.

order:random enforces that there is only one page, refresh the page to get additional random content. I will look at adding a special pagination mode that refreshes the page explicitly later on.

"Some people have reported success with using a VPN that routes traffic through the united states."

This doesn't help those of us in the United States who are having the same issue.

Same here as well, doesn't matter if I'm using desktop or mobile, the majority of images simply refuse to load for me.

obdolbashka666 said:

Same. Some images load if there are a still in your cache. I cleared it to give it a try and now those ones don't load.

Good to know I am not the only one suffering from this, at first changing the size of the art to it's original size and then back to sample fixed it, but now that doesn't work anymore.

A really minor issue here, but at least it's a genuine one and not just another page of the same spam about the routing problem.

I made a mistake in the upload form (mixing up the upload and source URLs), which generated a complaint about the whitelist when I attempted to submit. I fixed the issue and resubmitted. After about a second of displaying the usual success message, the green banner changed to the previous error message (without affecting the success of the upload itself).

I was having the same issue with thumbnails/pics not loading, until I switched from wifi to mobile data on my pho e, then everything worked fine. Seems like it's a DNS or ISP issue.

No images are loading in, I have fast and stable internet so somethings wrong with the website.

I'm having issues with images and thumbnails loading too, as in they don't, at least on my laptop, I know its not my laptop because other websites are working just fine, and I've noticed that images do load when I'm on mobile, as I'm typing this any and all images are stuck in a perpetual loading circle with no results.

For some reason no pictures are showingup for me. It simply shows the like that has the ratings and that's all. I've tried clicking on the picture, downloading it, and even turning off mobile support, but nothing works.

Trying to search sets won't work unless you enter an exact name.
Greninja gives no results
Greninja* gives no results
Greninja without its tongue scarf gives the result that happens to be an exact match.

I could understand if one of the first two didn't work, but it should be able to search for something that's more than what's typed out, either naturally or by using a wildcard.

Not sure what the issue is or what caused it, but for some reason all of the pictures on this site don't show for me. Just the tags describing what the pictures contains. When I try to download to view a picture I get a problem loading page error. Any other site I go to to view pictures; like u18chan or rule34 work just fine. I prefer e621 because its just better in my opinion. Is this still being fixed or is it something on my end. My internet works fine, so I'm not sure whats causing this issue.

The wiki is still limited to 25 thumbnails per page, which breaks the visual tagging guides. Most notably tag group:body types, but also sex position guide, etc.

I can't load any images on my computer, though I can access the website. Works fine on my phone, which is weird considering that it's normally the other way around.

e926 doesn't remove S and Q from the results like it would if u have rating:s in the searc. Instead it acts like you have rating:e and rating:q blacklisted with no wat to turn it off, reducing how many results u can get on the page. by however many would have -rating:s on e6. It used to be that it always acted like u had rating:s specified so it doesn't do that.

I did a few other tests and it seems to be a connection issue with the server, since using mobile data makes everything load normally, and so did a few VPNs I tried. So, until it gets fixed, VPNs seem to get the job done.

Not sure if it's a bug or not but I just found it is too easy to mistake a reply box for a complaint box and is there a away to make it go away?

When you edit th tags on a post if you use th drop down for tags like... green_ and thn click green_scales it will remove everything and u will only hav th tag u selected in th box. Has anyone cut off th tags from a post doing tht yet?

Making the report button go away sounds like a bad idea :/

I think its ok on my laptop but on mobile it is easy to hit the wrong one by mistake

Okay, so i have a problem, the thing is that abu of The images are loading un My Mobile device, Not a single thumbnail nothing, the only images that i can see are the ones that are in the cache of my navegator, i already cleared cache, but nothing seems to work, help?

I'm not entirely certain if this counts as a bug, but it looks like DText is unable to handle hash-mark fragment identifiers. This issue has broken many of the links in the howto:sites and sources page.

For example, [[howto:sites_and_sources_-_a_to_m#discord]] should link to https://e621.net/wiki_pages/show_or_new?title=howto:sites_and_sources_-_a_to_m#discord, but instead it links https://e621.net/wiki_pages/show_or_new?title=howto%3Asites_and_sources_-_a_to_m%23discord which leads to a wiki creation form.

It looks like the show_or_new?title= url query used by DText wiki links is unable to handle certain percent-encoded characters such as #.

Hello. Whenever I search anything, I get a screen that gives me the rank and score and all that, but there are no images that load. Even when I click on the image it refuses to load, and this problem is very recent. I have good connection and am operating on mobile, on the latest android version. I have a screenshot if needed

Mine seems to work....for a couple minutes and then it don't show the pics. Just text afterwards. This is getting annoying.

Happening to me as well, sometimes there's no thumbnails and clicking them does nothing, other times all the thumbnails are there but if I click on one; it opens the image page but the image itself doesn't load at all and takes a long time, and a lot of refreshes until it finally works until it does it all over again and yea. Annoying as fuck.

Edit button doesn't work on deleted posts (so tag textbox doesn't open, and you can't copy tags).
Probably not a bug.

Also, when looking at comments (profile>comments) if post was deleted it doesn't show any image so you can't go to post. (it used to show "deleted" image on old e6)
(though if you inspect it, the element is there so you can find the post that way)

same here, images don't seem to load at all if not on mobile

i've tried the same command from these different places:
• home server in Australia → 522 error
• cloud server in Australia → 200 OK
• cellular internet in Australia → 522 error
• cloud server in United States → 200 OK

i did confirm that each of the four cases was requesting from a different IP address

in each case the domain always resolves to 104.26.4.231 or 104.26.5.231. requests were always HTTP/1.1

this all seems very bizarre to me; as if cloudflare is randomly deciding it doesn't like certain traffic.

the only pattern i can see is that when it fails, the CF ray always ends in -SIN (presumably Singapore),
whereas the successful responses end in e.g. -SYD, -MEL, -SEA

Here is a traceroute I did from my home connection. It looks like the request spends a whole bunch of time at cogentco's datacenter then eventually gets routed to ioflood.net. ioflood.com is a hosting company but no sign on any link with ioflood.net.

Something else that looks weird is that none of those IPs are owned by cloudflare which excludes the idea of being routed to the wrong node. See: https://www.cloudflare.com/ips/

I get stuck at the same place you do (I live in the central US) but I had my friend who lives in the same area and has no access issues run it, and after your and my 16th step (ioflood.net 158.163.87.24), his proceeds to ioflood.net 104.161.43.26 and completes. Networking is not my specialty so I am unsure why both stop at the same location but only a certain one proceeds beyond it. We do have different ISPs, so that likely factors into it. >_>

it could be that cloudflare is somehow forwarding the ICMP packets on transparently, so it looks like you're tracing e621's own server

So I don't know if this has been fixed or not, but I'm getting ZERO images, not even the mascot. I'm running Brave Browser and Chrome, have things like DuckDuckGo, Shield, Adblock all disabled, and images still aren't appearing.

for me its still not

^ ^^ there are people trying to debug it right on this page (traceroute etc), and for many people it's intermittent or the effects vary (for me, things are currently working, but they mostly weren't two days ago). Most signs point to this problem as a whole not going away any time soon, and if it goes away it probably won't be due to any action on e621's end, but on Cloudflare's end or some company their service is interacting with.

My problem is very strange, I come to the site and the images won't load. I tried to reset my modem but still no luck

Having an issue with anything loading in. I have reset both the router AND my PC and I live in the US. So nothing should be wrong according to the notes, yet is.

I apologize for being rude. Same things being said over and over again for no good reason frustrate me, that's all.
In the meantime, here comes another one who "didn't see the page".

I apologize for being rude. Same things being said over and over again for no good reason frustrate me, that's all.
In the meantime, here comes another one who "didn't see the page".

Oh, I did see the page. I was clarifying the fact that despite the ways that the message says, I have done literally everything it stated would fix it AND being in the area that VPN's should be set as, and yet it still does nothing. I would classify that as new and a bug since said things should have fixed the issue with the information we were given.

Thanks for clarifying.
The news item doesn't say that those things will fix it, though; it says they might help. There is AFAIK no solution which works reliably for everybody. There may not be a solution which works reliably for *anyone*. IIRC, people who switched VPN settings and found that it worked, later found that it wasn't working, without them making any further changes.
