  • Laughter is the key to happiness and the cure for all ailments. Gotta admit despite the offensiveness of it i lol'ed. Part of the problem with people today is they are to thin skinned (and not in a 'puts the lotion on it's skin way) and take offense to things instead of moving on. Yes it was a tragedy but FFS this is the internet, on a yiff site crammed with scat, waterworks, diaperfurs, hypers, vore, cubs, incest, rape, asphyxiation, death, gore and so many more it would take me a month to list them all. Do you really expect anything to be 'sacred' here?

It's all a matter of perspective, what is funny for one is not funny for another.

For example, some think the Holocaust is funny. I don't think it is. My great great grandfather died in the Holocaust. Fell off a guard tower after a Jew threw a piece of bread he thought was a rock...

  • There has been worse tragedies than 9/11 in the world, yet everyone treats it as so.
It's been 12 years. 4000 people died or something.
The holocaust was 80 years ago and 6 million people were killed, yet I only hear about it in history class.

  • You speak of Hiroshima/Nagasaki, The Holocaust, Trail of Tears, The Great Chinese Famine, Crusades, Holodomor and other events that happened global where they resulted in over 1.5 million deaths, and they laugh at you, saying that those events were nothing.

You just say "9/11" and they want to pummel you to death because people died.

    I love this logic.

This.... Totally THIS! If you want to hear bad taste, litterally, the day it happened, one of my friends stood in a crowd of people standing in shock watching the scene unfold and said(loudly enough for most people to hear him) "AWWWWWWWW... Someone beat me to it"
Yeah, Ive gotten over it LONG ago. I never did have enough pride in my country to really get upset over it like I should have, and then came the suspicions floating around that the whole thing was arranged from inside our own government to give an excuse to have a war with someone. Between all that, I dont think even 9/11 porn can get me upset. Infact, I laughed when I saw this.

I don't care either way who caused it. People still need to get the cork out of their ass and lighten up a bit. The past is the past and nobody can change it. It's time to move on. I know people lost loved ones in the whole incident, but it's been twelve years now and it's time to live life instead of racking one's head about a tragedy.

  • America killed between 150,000-250,000 in the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and made both cities uninhabitably irradiated for decades to come, and the Japanese don't act as victimised as America does with 9/11. It was tragic, yeah, but get over it, learn to laugh at it, and let the shock dissipate. It's this attitude that allows the government to get away with making restrictive and unpopular laws for the sake of "security".

Thats because the bomb was the way to END the war that THEY started by bombing the USA first. 911 however was the START of the war and was uncalled for nor needed. The only reason Japan doesnt play that role is because Japan had bombed the usa first. Lastly laugh at what? this isnt funny

The US issued an oil embargo shortly before the war, cutting off Japan's oil supply, they got desperate and attacked the USA so they couldn't interfere in Japan's further push into China. Furthermore, The US imprisoned over 100,000 Japanese- Americans in 1942 as a result of the war, because they were so paranoid that they thought they would turn on America. My point is; the US isn't as innocent as it always appears to be, and that people should stop getting so offended over these relatively very small events, when America has done so much worse to other countries.

Its not about being innocent or not...

Japan was indeed in the wrong, but my problem is with how seriously Americans take every little thing that happens to them. Japan was indeed a fierce nation in the imperial era, and many massacres happened under the Japanese flag. But that doesn't excuse how lightly Americans take the nuclear bombings in comparison to Pearl Harbour. Furthermore, Pearl Harbour was an attack on a naval base, whereas the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were on CIVILIAN cities. And finally, yes it did end the war, but it also completely obliterated two of Japan's major cities and took the lives of over a quarter of a million people. And the US thinks all these drone strikes are acceptable retaliation to a couple crazed idiots who destroyed two buildings. It's all about perception and I probably won't change your mind, but I'm just saying; America isn't the freedom-fighting righteous nation it tries to act as.

Admittedly, I think people are laughing just because other people are laughing. No one here is really laughing, or has a true reason to do so. The real offense I see here is that there are people here who fail to have their own feelings on this issue, simply going along with everyone else or acting to impose suggestions without considering the thoughts of others. The offense I see here is the insensitivity to other perspectives.

And then we're told to simply put all this stuff behind us. And yet, pics just HAVE to show up just because some asshole wants to get a few chuckles. How're you supposed to forget anything when this crap keeps floating around like some indigestible corpse?

Like some terrible arrow-in-the-knee 'joke', you guys just have to bring it up just because someone told you to laugh. Maybe the laughter is there to balance out the tears, an attempt of the collective to maintain a sort of emotional symmetry. Perhaps the laughter is at the logic behind our response to what we've defined to be a tragedy.

The pics are not the problem, but the reactions that go along with them. Perhaps it's this feeling of a lack of alternative views, everyone simply asked to laugh and no one given a chance to question the logic behind the responses. What I feel is a sense of imbalance, perhaps, or a lack of information. It's like someone is forcing you to eat shit and you're never given a chance to really understand why it's being placed in your mouth.

Ideally, I'd rather the subject have little emotional investment from anyone, so as to direct our efforts toward more pressing matters. That's not to say such events should not be forgotten or undermined, but taken into context and seen as something that has affected decisions or resulted from previous decisions. Neither seen as comedy nor tragedy, but an event to be analyzed and understood. After all, those who fail to consider the mistakes of the past are doomed to repeat them.

That's enough from me. I've already said too much.

The bombings and planes of 911 started one and was unnecessary. Thats all.

In my Australian opinion, despite less than 3000 lives being lost, it was a huge deal ONLY because it happened in America.
The USA believes it is the best, most important country in the world, and anything bad that happens is projected all around the world by the self-obsessed media.
In Germany 6 million Jews were murdered but people are barely aware of this in comparison to 9/11.

You are so right about America not fighting for freedom, but so wrong about the bombings. First of all, Japan attacked first and was hell-bent on becoming a superpower. Secondly we stayed out of World War II until they attacked us. Same thing goes for Hitler, he declared war on us (foolishly). And NOBODY fucks with us. We nuked Japan twice because they REFUSED to surrender after the first bomb, so we bombed them AGAIN. When they were defeated we were out of the war until Hitler had a derp moment thinking he could fight us to. But now (this is all true but kinda buried) we pay almost every country with gifts instead of using that money to settle debts with THAT VERY COUNTRY, we refuse the help of every other country (40 last time I checked) when it comes to fighting terrorists, we use drones and terrorist fighting for profit and propaganda even though at our own borders the agents there are not even armed with so much as a tazer. If you MURDER someone, you will be out in about 5 years. Get caught selling crack? 40 YEARS NO PAROLE!!! WTF!!! Prisons get paid by the government to hold prisoners. More prisoners = $$$. The prisons overflow so they pitch tents outside or just put murderers in a halfway-house. Police can and will shoot your pet. Once there was a girl missing, police went to the girls house to investigate and there is a dog inside a fenced-in property. The police on the outside of the fence feeling "threatened" shoot the dog and kill it. The girl was at home the whole time. The police didn't even get punished. Know why? STATE LAW SAYS THEY CAN. And THIS is probably the most unbelievable yet but still happened courtesy of the government. If S.W.A.T. is deployed to your house EVEN IF YOU DID NOTHING WRONG you must pay the cost of S.W.A.T. deployment to your house. Oh its not so bad, it only cost 10,000. They picked up a signal they thought was from a hacker, but you know what they found? AND OLD LADY, HER NIECE, AND A PHONE JACK! THE LADY DOESN'T EVEN OWN A COMPUTER! They detected the phone jack! They still charged her, and because of the recording equipment on the helmet, after the area was determined clear, it videoed the team making jokes about smashing her glass door with a ram. Which by the way, they didn't pay for either. No apology, no nothing. Just one big laugh. This stuff is real. If you can't find the videos or want to see more you should see Glenn Beck's Radio Show. It is also known as the Blaze. He charges for it now but he speaks the truth.

  • ... I feel that this picture is rather upsetting on a scale, but to be honest at least it's a joke on our own disaster. It's definitely not a holocaust joke, where over 6 million people died, children and adults alike, babies even. They weren't all Jewish either, a lot were German too. So when someone makes holocaust/Nazi related art, which is not often, it doesn't create an uproar as much as THIS drawing. In fact there's a bunch of up votes for Nazi related pictures, at least the sexual ones... Only an estimated 3,000 people died in those towers. Since it happened in America there's going to be a lot more conflict about the subject, while the holocaust was in Europe... it wasn't America's problem until Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. That ended with two of their major cities filled with people to be obliterated. When 9/11 happened US armies were sent to Iraq, killing over a million people, a majority weren't for the war, just innocent people... The moral of the story is don't fuck with America, because if you scratch them they'll fuck you up times septillion...

You know one thing I'm noticing? 7 people feel so much more strongly against this than me to actually report it for removal AND (by downvote count) this is LITERALLY the 4th MOST HATED picture on this entire site! Think of ANYTHING that you would say is worse than this and the COMMUNITY says you're Wrong! The user/community_member/consumer is usually right.

    Isn't ^this^ enough by itself?

The only common denominators here are the FEW people that are deluded enough to think this is ok!

From a "Quality Control" standpoint, posts should be automatically hidden/removed if the score is less than -10. A -10 score does NOT mean only 10 people voted down, it means 10 MORE people voted down than those that voted up (duh)! This picture (currently at -146) means that 146 more people voted down than the dozens (or hundreds) that voted up.

Want to downvote me? 145 more people agree with me than disagree. Math Never Lies.

Not wrong, it has simply changed since that was posted.

It used to be impossible to downvote admins (so that their comments cannot be hidden), but that got changed a few months back: now you can downvote them, but the comments stay visible no matter how low the score.

Ten months, and one upvote. This post completely changed my perspective of not only this event, but of many others, and life in general, and it has only one upvote in ten months.

Well, now it has two. Thank you.

I should be surprised of this, but I'm not, and for good reason too. People are assholes, and will joke with anything, I feel sorry for those who lost family and friends, and others should too, but this photo crosses the line of funny and cruel humor way too far. I'd flag it, but their's no area for me to explain why I disapprove this photo.

Lee Harvey Oswald did a 360noscopeacrossthemapdirtysanchezAC-130killstreak on JFK's head 3 times. Then 420 days later Jack Ruby decided to quickscopewombocombo on Lee Harvey Oswald to the point where he was eventually confirmed darudesandstormed at approximately 9:11a.m. Here are some facts about the unholy trinity.
    - JFK, LHO, & JR = 3 people
    - If you throw 3 pennies on the ground it always makes a triangle
    - JEW = 3 letters
    - Jack Ruby was a Jew
    - illuminati = 10 letters (10 - 1 = 9), (10 + 1 = 11) = 9/11
    - JFK & LHO = 3 Initials, but JR = 2 Initials
    - 9/11 = 3 numbers x 2 = 6 that means
    - 9/11, 9/11 = 2

    9/11 sequel confirmed

It doesn't matter when, the only things that matter are the affects.
People that have experienced things like The Gaza massacre, The Armenian genocide, Rape of Nanking, Unit 731 will tell you that no matter how long ago it was it will forever be etched into the back of their minds haunting them each one of those events alone makes 9/11 look like a picnic, and I doubt anyone on here has been directly affected by 9/11 they're just trying to act politically correct to satisfy what ever bullshit moral code they've been taught to have.
(and I still joke about each one.)

Haha that's not how nuclear detonations work. Fat Man and Little Boy were airburst detonations. They caused almost no radiation illnesses or fallout. Airburst detonations are used to cause explosive collateral damage and casualties, not radiation-related injuries. When you detonate a nuclear warhead above the ground, it is essentially just a big explosion. Dust containing radioactive material is not kicked up into the air, so the spread of radioactive material is very slight, and the amount is hardly enough to make a place dangerously irradiated.

Was it really molten steel? Couldn't it have been aluminum? Rumor has it that there was quite a bit of aluminum that was delivered to those floors recently.

Building 7 caught fire from burning debris. There's a video of the lower floors burning and external steel structures warping and twisting in the heat.

But seriously the 9/11 is fucked up even more so because it happened recently, and also with the Paris bombings. These bombings have no purpose except to incite fear. This might be a controversial opinion but even the holocaust and the Japanese invasion have a purpose, a good purpose, although not carried out well. Since those countries have limited space for farming and agriculture (especially Japan) and a increasing population they either need to 1.Get space (Japanese plan) or 2. Get rid of "unnecessary" population mass (Nazi plan). But I don't sympathize with these regimes because their bloody awful . A lot of wars are for resources but this "War on Terror" is a very "modern war" since we aren't fighting for resources.
But who cares, ain't no one gots time to read this, and the whole controversial nature of this picture is now diluted.

I mean, is it suppose to be funny because he hates Jesus and the Ninja Turtles or what? Tell me if I'm missing something here. :/

Any thing can be funny. No matter how satir or horrible it is.

Think for example about the window-washer who just finished washing all the windows on the first tower & says phew finally done & then he sees the plane going boom & he says Come on motherF*'king plane! why me why me!! & then he realizes that the the one providing him with his pay check for that job blew up in there. Isn´t that pretty damn funny???

We can take it one step further by having the mad/sad & depressed man go into the other tower to have a snack/coffee & try to calm down after what just happend to HIM (not them, HIM) & then he says annoyed & with slight relief : Now It can´t possibly get any worse.... & now I think you know what happens next but Ill say it anyway he looks out the window & Says OOHHH SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT (while spilling his hot coffee in his lap) & BOOOOOOOMM

There you go & that´s one of the funniest jokes i know.

The reason they do that is because those events all have the excuse of being part of a war, so, though tragic, they are excusable. 9/11, though, was not a part of a war, it was just a straight-up terrorist attack, and so is NOT excusable.

Well if I am being entirely honest, 9/11 was a few hundred casualties and 2 towers falling down. What did america do again? Oh, drop 2 nuclear atomic bombs on 2 major civilian cities during WW2? And don't even bring up the whole "self defense" bullshit because those two cities are still radioactive waste dumps to this day, and for another several decades forward.
I wasn't really directing it towards you specifically, I just want people to know that americans are shitty people too. Which I am :/

America killed between 150,000-250,000 in the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and made both cities uninhabitably irradiated for decades to come, and the Japanese don't act as victimised as America does with 9/11. It was tragic, yeah, but get over it, learn to laugh at it, and let the shock dissipate. It's this attitude that allows the government to get away with making restrictive and unpopular laws for the sake of "security".

Probably because most (if not all) of those events happened decades ago, before many of us were born. 9/11, on the other hand, is relatively recent, and most of us were alive to witness it.

Why.. just why would someone make this about a tragic event?

Watch MrRepzion on youtube. He can explain it better than I can, but comedy is a way to help people grieve. He had bad things happen to him as a kid, and he now jokes about those events because it helps him overcome the anxiety/hate that comes from it. I know that this is 2 weeks too late, but no joke is a bad joke. There might be a time and place for a joke, but you can joke about anything. There's nothing out there that says that you can't.

That was in the 40's. This was in the 00's. Also the american government and the military industrial complex requires that we "remember it" every year so they can get their shit-zillion dollars and people will join the military to "serve their country." Watch it in the next 50 years, it'll either ween out and they'll start to panic... Or another "tragedy" will happen, like Al-Qaeda or Isis.

We laugh because it’s funny. You don’t need to write an entire essay and act like a total BOOMER (pun not intended)

Laughter is the key to happiness and the cure for all ailments.

In my opinion I’m more offended by the fact that this image exists more than the fact that this event happened.

  • There has never been an alternative comics artist who makes work that’s more divisive than that of Johnny Ryan. Shit, piss, farts, dicks, and pussies are his vanilla material. When he really gets rolling, he’ll deal in rape, murder, genocide, 9-11, AIDS, baby fucking, and the end of the world. The style of art in his humor comics—all cute and cartoonish—both undercuts and ramps up the disturbance factor. It’s dizzying. But when Johnny draws, for example, an airplane and one of the Twin Towers engaging in mutual oral sex and titles it “69-11,” it’s just too damn cute. How could anybody be offended?

This is now the most downvoted post on e621, but we will never forget the grate cheese post that was the most downvoted of all time previously. The artist requested a takedown after over a decade, but it will never be forgotten.

To anyone interested, here's the page the original image was hosted on, along with the takedown request from the artist: https://e621.net/posts/6268

  • Regarding the 9/11 discussions, I think it's not such a big deal just because it happened in the Usa and the Usa are the greatest, most perfect, and completely invincible nation in the world. What makes it such a big deal, for Us-Americans at least, is that so far, during their entire history, they have never lost any civilian lives to any other nation. Europe, Asia, Africa, every other continent has many many nations, the vast majority of them dating back thousands of years. Over the course of time, many of them have fought each other and lost civillians to each others attacks. They all learnt that some loss of civilian lives is unavoidable if another nation hates you enough to want to attack you for whatever reason. Now lets look at America. America has, what, Usa, Mexico and Canada? And that should be about it, if I'm not mistaken. So the Usa were never seriously threatened by any other nation, the biggest - and to my knowledge only - war where Us civilians were ever threatened and harmed was the civil war of north vs south. And that wasn't another nation, it was just people from Usa killing each other to decide whether slavery is right or wrong. So it doesn't even count when talking about losing civilians to another nation.

tl;dr basically 9/11 was the day where the usa lost it's virginity in terms of losing civilians to another nation's attack, so of course it's rather memorable for them.

Now, why other nations make such a big deal about it, I really cannot understand tho. One country getting pissed at another country and killing a bunch of civilians shouldn't be something new to anyone except the Usa (and maybe some very few others who got lucky enough to be able to rise to power long before anyone else in their immediate vicinity), and it wasn't even that many people, so what's the big deal here for non-american people?

What? That makes no sense at all, I don't know what you're trying to say.

as in Metal Gear Solid Rising: Revengance. it was just an invasive thought i had reading your comment

i'll make it clear: i do think that making jokes at the expense of the victims of the twin tower attacks is terrible. and i'd even say legit. actually. no meme triggering for survivors, friends and family of the victims, or really anyone who developed some kind of trauma after witnessing that mass-murder

i also think it's perfectly fine (warranted, even) to crack jokes at the expense of conspiracy nutcases who legit think that the people who lost their lives were stage actors, that one woman who pretended to be a survivor, how america (especially the government and media) at large responded to the event, and especially the sort of people who think that simply referencing or showing pictures of the twin towers burning is in anyway bemusing

still, i think that artistic renditions like this, however callous and mean-spirited, do in someway deserve to be archived. not just because this piece in specific qualifies as grandfathered_content, not just because this site already has a pretty low bar for what's tasteful enough to warrant archival, but if only because at least this isn't the display of snuff that i consider any photo or footage of 9/11 to be

Let's ignore the scores of people who died of radiation poisoning and cancer. Though, you are correct in it not really irradiating the cities long-term, though I presume they had above-average radiation levels for years afterwards. Just not Chernobyl levels or whatever.
